110 heads question...
« on: November 06, 2008, 03:22:57 PM »

Will the head off of a 110" motor fit on a stock 96" motor. I have a friend that has a set of 110 heads and he wants to put them on his 09' SERG's 96 incher. If so, anything he should know? Any mods necessary?

Have to agree. My old heads are sitting in the basement. Best to get heads that are mated to the bikes cams etc. Stock 110 heads aren't anything to rave about.  THE MUFFMAN

I think his intection is to have some work done to the 110 heads and then put them on his 96". I'm assuming this can be done from your answers. I haven't quite gotten a yes or no yet lol.

Yes,they will fit.
That being said, his biggest problem will be getting a decent compression ratio with 96".The SE 110 heads have 93 cc. chambers.

the valves and ports are very big...it will take a lot of work to use them on a motor smaller than 110...cheaper/better to have his stock heads rubbed on

It's a new "greener" model from Harley lol. My bad, it's a habit on here for me to put SE in front of everything. It's just a standard RG. Thanks for not leting me get away with anything on here lol.

Have to agree with Skyhook and John on this one, better to have his stock heads worked on.   Compression is going to be a challenge.

Your buddy might also consider taking his 96 to a 103 or 107.
