New SE Ultra owner here
« on: November 07, 2008, 03:52:12 AM »

Picked up the 2009 SE Ultra ruby red/typhoon maroon Wednesday night.  I have been keeping a lookout everywhere, trying to find one of these, and I walked into my local dealer on Wednesday, and there it was on the floor.  Wow!  It looks awesome, although I'll miss my '07 Road King Classic that I traded.  My only complaint thus far is lack of usability of the navigation system, which shouldn't matter to me, since I can't even get the CD to load.

I'm curious as to the suggestions for exhaust and tuner.  It doesn't appear that there is much available for these bikes yet, but I don't think I can last long with the stock pipes.  I'm in PA, but I still intend on riding all 12 months, so waiting until spring isn't a good option for me.  Anyway, I know that this is just an introduction, but if anyone has tips on loading the NAV CD, exhaust or tuner suggestions, or anything else a new CVO owner should know, I'd appreciate any insight that may be offered.

This is my 12th bike in 38 years of riding, my 3rd new bike in 3 years, and my 2nd Harley.  I'm looking forward to becoming a contributing member of this forum, as I have in other forums for previously owned bikes.

Thanks for the nice welcome.  I am in the Pittsburgh area (Monroeville).  We're the ones that have a great football team about 3 out of every 5 weeks.  Today, we have nice weather, so I've got to go put some miles on.

Picked up the 2009 SE Ultra ...

Welcome to the site, 1abastarsmda!  There is a wealth of information here.  You've probably seen a lot of it already.  For your exhaust, look here:
http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=27814.0    and here:
http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=28086.0

That will show you how to remove your cat and change baffles.  Great look, sound and power at a fraction of the cost of aftermarket systems.

Take a look at the HD high flow a/c.  Or, if you want more, the heavy breather, HD p#29253-08.  There is great debate over the SERT vs. Mastertune for your ECM.  I went with version of the SERT and was very pleased with the result.  Good luck and enjoy!
