If you can live without a few of the 550 features, Costo has the 450 for $349.  Check Costo.com, just put Zumo in the search.

I've been limping around using my old Street Pilot.  Bigger slower and can not store all the maps at one time.  Any scuttlebutt re: a new Zumo?  By electronic standards the 550 has been out forever.  I heard Garmin checks with D00D before any product release to make sure it is worthy of the 2 wheel market.

If you don't need satellite radio or bluetooth, go with the Garmin Zumo 450... if the satellite radio and bluetooth are important, you will want the Zumo 550.

There are several cheap option on the internet for either unit.

With either unit, you will probably want to get the Techmount handlebar mount:  http://www.techmounts.com/index.php

and the InvisableShield for the screen:

I don't need satellite radio or bluetooth so the 450 will probably work for me and I really like the Techmount handlebar mount. Thanks for the help guys.

Best price?  Definitely NOT the Road Tech version from Harley that doesn't even include the mount.

Sounds like you've got the notification set (which is optional). At work now and can't get my hands on Zumo or manual, but that is something you can change.

I do the same thing sometimes.  Or I just turn it off.  It's not as much fun knowing where I am all the time.  Getting lost is how I have found some of the best roads.

Red - As far as the best price on the 550, there are a number of sources.  This source has a unit at $429.

http://www.everyprice.com/item.asp?item_Id=155664&partner=g123&keyword=zumo_550&gclid=CNG5prjb7pYCFQhJagodQxuBrw

Be wary of unknown vendors - a friend ordered one from some fly-by-night retailer, used PayPal, and it never shipped.  Got his money back, but it was a hassle.
