Thinking of switching from belt to chain drive.

Why?  Belts are light years ahead of chains.  Less maintenance, less noise, less mess.  Only thing better than a belt is a shaft.

I prefer the belt drive due to the minimum maintenance, but one disadvantage compared to chain drive is that if the belt breaks its quite expensive to strip down the primary and replace the belt

try replacing a belt on the side of the road;) buddy of mine shredeed three belts in a year on his hd (all 3 dealer installed)i can pull a masterlink on of my pocket and have it on in mins as long as the chain isnt tangled up tight in the rear wheel

Yeah old sometimes has its advantages when it comes to roadside repairs, but usually belts r pretty reliable
