Good point!  I didn't really consider the risk of damage to the module, and I'm glad you brought it up.  Perhaps I'll just have to mull it over and in the meantime perhaps the good folks at Kuryakyn could tell me.

Thanks much,

Great looking addition as well as safety factor.  I liked it so well I ordered one but when it came I discovered it is a bit too long for my leather trunk.  Now I need to figure a way to shorten it up a bit.  Actually, it isn't too long it's the fact that the edges of the trunk are more radius and a bit of corner of the light frame would stick out and wouldn't look right.  Any ideas anyone???  Thanks.

Sorry that it didn't fit the leather tour pak.  Too bad too, because it really is enhances the safety of your scooter.

OK, anyone have any ideas for him?

There was lots of posts about Rear LED lighting and many of us got an LED light from Custom Dynamics that just sticks onto the leather between the two antennas and get plugged into the wiring inside the Tour Pak that is already there.
Here is their website link and they can make a lightbar in any length you want too.

Most members here got the red lens but I got clear with red bulbs. You can choose to wire it as run and brake light or also as a turn signal.

I must admit, that looks pretty good too!

I was thinking of installing one to mine as well. I also have a leather tourpack - any chance you could just set it back a little further to make up for the edge/rdius issue?

Finally brought the bike home last friday and the first thing installed was the 3rd LED brake light.  I like it!  Thank you for posting the idea and pictures.

That's what I first thought of but I couldn't see any way to do it.

After looking more at the light assembly I decided I didn't have much to lose so I traced the outline of the tour pac bracket and cut away a portion of the rear of the plastic case of the light according to the bracket outline.  By doing that I got it to fit perfectly under the leather tour pac.  I then applied electrical tape on the now exposed back side of the LED strip and filled in the cavity with a good quality clear silicone caulk to weatherproof it and mounted it.  Looks really great!  I also have the Kury Panacea taillamp and turn signals which several who ride behind me tell me they don't show up so good as running lights during bright sunny days but the brake lights show up well.  In view of that I decided to connect the "stealth" light as a running light rather than brake light.  I'll have someone follow me and let me know how that shows up and decide for sure whether I want to keep it that way or convert it to a brake light.

I would love to see some photos of this.
