I thought California annexed Colorado. ;D Per some of the locals I talked w/ this year they were less than pleased at all the real estate being bought up and making it unaffordable.

Co. was on our short list to retire to as well. Good luck in your search, we've got about a year and then we're heading south.

Moorpark, in the new golf course development.  Lived in Simi prior for 15 years.

She likes the beach, I like the mountains. We both detest the snow/cold and strangely extreme heat has become an issue. Looking real strong @ the Carolinas (N.C. has a helmet law - bummer). Need to consider taxes and health care proximity. Next summer we get serious about looking.

Perfect place to retire... How about a place in Durango, Colorado for the summertime and then maybe Key West, Florida for the winter months.
Don't really think I could settle for just one location.... I hate cold weather!... and really enjoy the Colorado climate during the summer.

Several members here from Colo.  It's a beautiful state, for sure and some of the best riding roads in this country.  Not sure I'd ever get bored of riding there.

My brother lives in Divide, Colo. (outside of Colorado Springs at the foot of Pikes Peak).  He gets a kick out of all the Californians moving to Colo.  He says "if they make it through their first two winters they'll probably make it.....but 60% are packing up and moving back home after their first winter.  One of the requirements for this area is a 4x4 tracker with a nice blade on it (he has to plow about 1/2 mile to the paved road)."

I live in norther Colorado, just below the foothills, I've lived here since 85, love it here. Great weather, summers not to hot, winter isn't to bad, 70 here yesterday. I'm 60 miles from Denver, 30 miles from Boulder, Fort Colins is home of CSU, so a nice sized town, but not to big. Lots of great local riding in the foothills, can be in Rocky Mountain National Park in 35 minutes. I guess it depends on what you want, Durango is nice, a bit colder than here, not much as far as other towns near by, but lots to do. I'd go on line and do some research, but if you have any questions theres a few guys here that can give you some inside info.

Oh, forgot one important fact, lots of breweries in the area. :drink:
