Moving the Tour Pak
« on: November 30, 2008, 01:23:22 PM »

I see on E-GLIDE GOODIES they offer a tour pak adjustment bar to move the tour pak forwards or backwards.  I am a little guy who is 6'5" and about 350 and my wife is not a size 6. I just purchased this SEUC 2 weeks ago and have yet to ride it due to the snow but we did sit on it and I noticed that I was sitting up on the tank more than I did on my previous bike ('97 ultra).  Has anyone used this product or did you go to the tall boy seat or something similar?

Your Tour Pack has two adjustment positions, check that yours is in the Back Position by removing the TP liner and checking the bolt locations.

Many of us who own 2006 Ultras (and others too) have had great luck with the custom bracket made by George Anderson. His customer service is great too. I believe it is cheaper than the other brackets and better made.
Here is a thread showing a photo of it too :

George Anderson's (Doer of Things) part is the way to go.

If you you make the tourpak detachable you will gain an extra inch or 2 anyway.

One thing you might want to check is to make sure your tourpak is set to the back position as Piper said.  Most dealers sold them that way but someone could have moved it up, when you look down at the tourpak with the liner removed the bolts should be in the hole closet to the seat - a side view will show you this.  It makes a HUGE difference if the tourpak is set forward - there is almost no room.

If you are a little guy  :P I would buy the detachable hardward first - I made mine detachable and it does improve the space also when you take the tourpak off and put a sissy bar on the rider can sit back further.  I know alot of guys have used the George Anderson kit my concern is with the tourpak detachable and already moved back that the front end of the bike is already lighter so adding  his kit and moving it back farther will make the center of gravity move back farther.  After making the tourpak detachable I had enough space so I did not purchase Georges kit.

Do you have a stock seat - the stock seats also puts the rider up on the tank more.  After I bought my corbin it moved me back.

One accessory you gotta get is the Hawg-Wired system from Hd-dude.  It is UNBELIEVABLE and worth every penny!  Then you will have your 4 speakers up front.  One of the best upgrades I have done.

I'll second that.  My Corbin put me back alot.  Much better now.  Renea still prefers the TP in the forward position.  Right before Thumper croaked, we were experimenting with moving the TP back.  She hated it, so I moved it forward again.  All is good.

I have installed the my TP using the solo bracket setup and since my SERG didn't come with one I need to add a wiring harness for my King TP. Any help with how to do this. I know I need to relocate the antenna, and would like to just move it to the TP

So the CORBIN seat...did you get fitted or is it a standard seat/model?  I know what you guys are talking about with the OEM seat for this bike...it does set you forward and makes me feel like I am on the tank.  I am looking to make a change, any ideas?  remember I am 6'5" 350 lbs. Oh I am starting a diet but I will be still 6'5".

I got the standard seat.  I'm 6'1" 215lbs.  Plenty of wiggle room.  Renea is 5'3" and 107lbs.  She says she has plenty of room with the TP full forward.  The Corbin is awesome............................after the first 1500 miles.  Took about that long to get it "fitted."
