Heat Deflector saddle shield
« on: November 30, 2008, 02:46:40 PM »

Has anyone used this product or one like it?

Does it work?

I still am running factory exhaust and thinking of moving up to true duals. So I am wondering if it is a joke or if it really works.  I believe it may come on the 2009's. I did have true duals on my 1997 ultra and noticed a big difference in heat by the leg and it seemed to be cooler than it was stock.

Haven't used that one but I did install the ones sold by Kuryakyn.  Look very similar.  They do help.  You can actually keep both feet on the ground at red lights on 100 degree days!

These "type" of heat shields are standard on the 2009 SEUC.....

There are other heat deflectors available form Kuryakyn, and from H-D. I used the H-D ones on my '08 SEUC, and it helps a little bit. The look quite good, covering up some of the "hole" between the engine and the frame, specifically on the right side. Once I got rid of the SEUC, I transferred them to my '07 SERK. Look fine there as well, was not concerned with the heat on that bike.

I'd always go with the H-D ones, because they are black, not transparent.

Ride safely,
Louis

IMHO, the plastic ones look kinda cheesy compared to these http://www.rjsoriginals.com/

I get compliments on them all the time
