Yeah, but then you'd end up with that 'cheap oil' left in there to mix with the good stuff.........I'd just as soon have the small amt. of dirty 'good stuff' remaining.  Awwwww, this has got to be the best thread yet.  ;D  har!  spyder

Oil change every 1k miles?  Even after you know the oil pressure drop you were seeing was mechanical?  You like doing oil changes a lot more than I do.

HeHe!!! Vern does em for me! He does his that way and wants me to do the same. I also know I don't need to worry doubling that on the road too. No biggie. I'm there a lot anyway. And Dino oil's cheap! ;)

Damn Howie, every 1K?  You going to put wheels on a 55 gal drum of oil and start pulling it behind you when you go on long trips?  Even dino, you don't need to change every 1K...2.5-3K is plenty good!   ??? :P

First you have to have a motor that will last more than 1k miles.

All kidding a side, when I had my Willys right at first I had lots of little issues, copper headgaskets leaking, rear main seals, blown torque converters; whatever could go wrong did and every time it was an oil change.

I used Mobil 1 and my oil system held 11 quarts.  9 in my oil pan and 2 in my MasterLube pre-lubing system.  So when I had a problem I cost me about $100 for the oil and filter etc.

So changing oil at 1k miles seems like an eternity.

that brings up a good point howie...you and I are one of the few who believe in dino oil for our motors...did you run your oil above 250* F and then not change it?...do you think dino oil contributed to your motor failure?

No, not at all. The temp never went over 235, normally ran 220-225. The motor ran cool. In summer traffic with the syn, it hit 240's. I'm expecting it to be even cooler now in the "detuned" mode. ;)

Fine Dan, how's this then? I blow em up every year, but still manage way more than 1K. This one even went 13K before El Destructo took over! And you can keep your Syncrap too! Maybe now that I'm going back to old school, this TC POS may live as long as an Evo. Or get past 1 season anyway!!! :P ::) :o :D ;)

Better Dan? :2vrolijk_21:

I have used the roguechoppers scavenger system since day one and it works great.  You pump out at least a quart of dirty oil in the process.  It's probably less than a quart, but that's about what comes out before the oil appears clean.

I think removing a quart of dirty or used oil by using the Scavenger as Pete described seems to be a product that works as promised. How does this qualify as a gimmick? I will agree that there are tons of products that make ridiculous claims and you have to judge for yourself on what and how to spend your money. When a video and a few users of the product confirm that it lives up to it's claims it definitely warrants some investigating. What does dumping 4 quarts of clean dino solve, it just leaves some dino to mix with my synthetic as Spydglide said. I think I'll make my decision on what I see and not what I hear. Hey don't get me wrong I don't want to spend money just for the hell of it, but if I do a job I want it done to the best of my abilities. And I'll be the first to say that I don't have the best of mechanical abilities.

what do you make of this?...some say that the temp of the oil in the pan is irrelevant...we know that the rear head reaches 300 defrees F or more...does this mean that dino oil burns up?...and if so, how many miles does it take before dino oil stops doing its job?
