SERG Radio/MP3 player
« on: December 02, 2008, 08:56:02 PM »

My 03 doesn't have the MP3 player. Does the new 09 SERG radio with the MP3 player play the songs in random/shuffle mode like my Ipod?

On the CUSE3 ('08), Yes ! The HK with the MP3 player play the songs in random/shuffle mode like an Ipod.

IMHO, it's same for '09 HK.

Is there a way to put a docking cradle in the storage boxes and wire it through the back of the stereo?

Contact Jim (HD-Dude).  He offers as a shop service adding an aux in port to the back of the radio.  The radio does not have any such capability to begin with.

Once you've got the aux in jack you'll only need to route the iPod controller cable coming from whatever base you use to reach the aux in jack.  If you just want just tuck the iPod in a fairing storage pocket might consider using a Uni-Pod and it's cable connection.  Link to Uni-Pod here:

I heard they have done this with the older radios, but I wasn't aware of anyone trying it on a HK radio. This would be a wonderful and clean way to use an Ipod and not have the cables running to the radio. Keep us informed on this one! thanks

Perfect, just what I was looking for. Now I just have to get HD-Dude to do it.  Probably when I order my speakers/amp.
