Looking for some advice ?
« on: December 04, 2008, 12:33:05 PM »

Hi All,

I have really enjoyed reading a lot of the posts in the forum and I am trying to make an informed desicion reagding a purchase of a 2004 B+B SEEG.

It has around 10,000 miles and is in good condition, however not pampered by any means.  The front rim has the chrome peeling issues like others have had. and I believe some peeling on the left front floorboard. It mostly stock including pipes and air cleaner. Basically a little rough around the edges.

The asking price is $16,500 however beetween adding a tour pac, pipes, power commander and having the front chrome wheel re-chromed the price would be closer to $18,500.

What are you thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

If the paint is good, all the parts are there the wheels and floorboard are a minor issue.

The B&B is one of my favorites, but Red is still best!

If the bike is mechanically sound the price sounds good.

I agree with porthole.  Most of these bikes are selling in the low $20K's...

If a 2004 BB jumped in front of me for only $16,500 I would be more in dept and have 2 bikes! Bad ass bike for that price.

No tour pack on 04.  Chopped tour pack on 05.  Like they're going to do with the new SERG model.....no tour pack or backrest this year.  Next year they'll offer a backrest and chopped tour pack as improvements for the 2010 model SERG. :huepfenlol2:

I'm confused, are you close to trading on a SEEG, a SEFB or a SES (springer)?  Looks like you posted pretty much the same thing in all three. :nixweiss:

Hi,

Thanks for the advice, Just to clarify I took a pass on the SE Fatboy a while back, and bought a used 2003 SE Deuce instead. I later sold it for a Street Glide, but I have had the Screamin Eagle fever ever since owning the deuce.
I bought the springer and it looks like I will pull the trigger on the SEEG.

Again thanks for your help.

Fgizzo,

I have an 04 and an 05, and if the only issues you see are the rim, and floorboard, I wouldnt hesitate to buy if the bike was sound and the paint was  ood.   We have added the king tour pak on the 04 pumpkin since that year didnt come with any tour pak.  The tour pak is really a great addition
on trips.   These bikes (SEEGS) other than some minor chrome issues have really been fantastic running machines with very little mechanical failures or things to complain about.

Best of luck on your purchase should you choose to,

i found an o/b 04 about 4 months ago and paid 21k.   thought that was a pretty good deal.   i did, however, get the seller to get hd to replace the front wheel under warrantee. Other than that, its completely stock, but had only 4100 miles.     so I think you have a chance of getting a great bike for a great deal.    Go for it,  you wont be sorry!!
