After we are done resting, it’s back to pulling.

Can’t get the sleds in here so we do enlist Armstrong to do the pulling after much shoveling.

I’m talking about good old fashioned AL_U_MINI_YUM shoveling. Lightweight plastic shovels won’t cut the tough stuff.

DJ, I'm beginning to think you do more digging than riding.  I've had a couple air cooled sleds when I was younger and they could be dug out alone but you have to carry two straps and shovels with the big liquid cooled 700's

I ski, snow blow, shovel, and hibernate in the off season.  I'll also get back into homebrewing and kegging this year.  next up is an oatmeal stout.

If you ride in larger groups with a number of novices, you will dig all day long if you aren’t careful. Groups of 2 to 4 work well. Clearing a stuck sled is more technique than work; most of the time it’s a non issue. The Snobungee is also an amazing little invention; wouldn’t leave home without it. Attached is a sequence of Snowbungee photos that demonstrates how effective they are.

Pull_10 through Pull_12 is an example of a simple pull that required no digging, just hook up and go. The rider on the stuck sled gets on the uphill side of the sled and gets the track spinning so the machine will come around easily. The rider on the pull sled feathers back just before the snatch and is ready to add more power immediately if necessary.

Pile_10
There were numerous debris piles north of Whitefish, MT; very rugged country.

You posted a few snowmobile photos a couple of years ago which I thought were remarkable. It seems to me that the northeast has been just clobbered with snow in the last couple of years. You folks don’t have the elevation, but I’ll bet that you would have an absolute blast boondocking in your neighborhood with a 700+ machine with a 136 x 1.75 track. Back in ’97 that described Ski-Doo’s flagship mountain sled, today they call a machine like that a “crossover sled”. If you happen to get out, remember   :worthless:
