I find the seat to be very comfortable.  I'm 6', 180 lbs.  I wish the grey stripe was done in the same grained leather, but left black in color.  I'm assuming that since it's a finished surface leather, it probably can't be dyed.  Anyone know for sure?  It kind of reminds me of cowboy boots.  At the same time, I'm starting to get used to looking at it, but everyone that sees it for the first time, mentions it right away.  I don't completely mind it now, but I still think it was a stupid move doing it that way.

There sure isn't much passenger room if you try to leave the rider backrest on.  It's just a pain to have to take it off whenever I have a passenger.  Has anyone found if there is enough room for a passenger with the rider backrest on, if you relocate the tour pack back a few inches?

I've already tried different sized women, but that didn't seem to help either.

5' 16" and love the seat.  I did alter the backrest.

I've had BSR's on mine with the rider backrest in place and the TP in stock position who were at or near 200 lbs.  It might not be comfortable for the BSR on long trips with the backrest against them.  My skinny daughters have a lot of room and so does my wife.  I always instruct the passengers to step up on the floor board and swing their leg through while trying to keep their weight over the center of the bike.  So far I've been able to hold it up a few hundred times doing it this way.

Have you tried moving the trunk back, sounds like yours is mounted in the forward position.

I am 5"11" and I like the ride of this seat so much better than the 06 SE I had. It is the first Harley stock seat that has been comfortable for me after 200 miles. I agree it looks a little cheesy but as the man said, you dont see it when your butt is on it

Yup...already checked the position of the trunk...bolts are in the holes closest to front of bike.  I need the relocator or a smaller woman.

Does the 09 trunk have an adjustment?

If you take out the lower trunk liner, you will see there are additional mount holes near the mounting bolts.  Mine came moved back already.  There is an adjustment of about 1 - 1.5" from a quick glance.

answered in the order received...

1)  6' -0"
2) Very comfortable - better than my '06
3) moved backrest mount 1 pin backwards on fender - now its OK
4) Wifey has plenty of room with TP in rear set position
5) no complaints in the bratwurst department
6) bun warmers were appreciated on our ride last weekend

cheers!

Should I assume that if I change the seat I will loose the heat option? Are there and after market seats that feel as good as stock but look better?

Sounds to me like you are in the market to have your original seat recovered.  You like the feel and heat just have someone cover it with leather to your likeing.  Personally I think the stock seat looks great...I have the silver/blue and I like the way the stitching is gray and the way the center stripe in the seat matches the design in the center console, air cleaner, emblems on tour pak...all the same pattern.  Plus the color looks good with the silver/blue.

When I was shopping for an SEUC, I noticed that on the silver/blue model, the seat did blend better with the colors.  I still went with the Ruby/Typhoon, since we all know the red bikes are faster. :pepper:

OMG, haven't you been here, when the official announcement for the '09's came out? For '09 the silver/blue has been designated the fastest. I am so sorry you have made the wrong choice!  ;D

Ride safely,
