Take a look in the Sticky Threads - Find Sticky Threads Here... in this board there are several threads concerning the removal of tourpaks.

Check This Thread:     http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=28620.msg465387#msg465387 (you may have to copy this link and paste it into your browser)

Remove the amp and overlay harness completely and go with the Hawg Wired "Four In The Face" audio system. Add the detachable tour pak hardware, docking hardware, a lay back license plate bracket, a Dakota Digital inside fairing mounted antenna, and you're good to go. Contact h-d dude from this forum for a 10% discount on Hawg Wired and other products and lots of technical help.

It's easy, I did it so if I can anyone can.  It took me only a day and a half to do and I did it all myself.  You will have to pull the amp off from the back, just disconnect as you go to the front.  You will have to pull the fairing to remove the harness from the radio.  For me, reinstalling the fairing was the hardest part but I got it done, correctly.  I went with the Hawg Wired plug & play amp and replaced the front speakers at the same time.  The Hawg Wired is an big improvement - the sound is much better and more clear.  Get with HD-Dude, this is resident expert and can sell you the Hawg Wired at a discount.
