OCD for RG owners
« on: December 09, 2008, 09:22:06 AM »

I don't have a Road Glide but I found this in the Kuryakyn site............it could be a nice piece for OCD lovers....

Nacelle Accents
for Road Glide
Forget about run-of-the-mill gauge bezels...this kit totally transforms the appearance of the Road Glide speedometer, tach, and fork nacelle. The main cover envelops the gauges and indicator lights with an elegantly sculpted shroud while the four individual accent pieces decorate the edges of the nacelle. Simple peel-and-stick installation for an instant transformation!

Peel-n-stick, looks cheezy.  If they made the actual bezel, maybe.

Most of these bezels are peel & stick... even the HD bezels.

I wonder if this kit can be separated?
There's no way I'm going to cover my already painted tach/speedometer but I do like the chrome trim to go the other places.

Spiderman and I talked about this part awhile back.  I do like the appearance and would use it on a normal black inner fairinged bike.  It looks good on a bike.  But as Chip mentioned not using it on the paint to match nacelle on the other red bike.  You just don't cover up the red.

Looks like kuryakyn has some competition:
http://secure.netsolhost.com/177731.179935/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HF&Product_Code=HFFLTNC-D&Category_Code=RoadGlideInstrumentNacelle
(that is if they can produce them!) john

May not be competetition so much as cooptation and supply.  Kuryakyn licenes a lot of other people's items to offer under the Kuryakyn name.  In some case the OE stops screwing with sales themselves and in other both the OE and Kuryakyn sell the item.  I'd bet this is a case of the latter.

Did you ever see an over done Goldwing with wall to wall  plastic chrome. use caution in my opinion. I don't want to sound too opinionated but do feel strongly about the statement Harley Davidson has made with the styling and lack of excessive bling. This is a tribute to the benchmark 2000 SERG. Clean, sporty Ferrari like exclusivity.

Chrome never looks good against silver paint. Any idiot knows that, even one like me with a "stock" RG

So, now I'm an idiot? You know I try to be a good CVO owner, I buy all the right stuff, redesigned the garage so as to allow protection and workability. I use the right cleaners, polishes. I keep the temp just right. I avoid potholes and puddles while riding.
All this and still, Im an idiot. :-\
