Stock SE exhaust & Rienhart/BUB baffles inserts
« on: December 09, 2008, 02:41:12 PM »

Looks like I'm going to get a SEUC4 this spring and wondering about the stock SE exhaust for performance and sound?  Any youtube or private clips on the SE stock sound?  Performance?  Also, heard that BUB was coming out with quieter baffles for their systems, but can't confirm it.  Anyone with better info?  Last question:  slip ons vs expense and performance of true dual exhaust system from Rienhart/BUB?
Thanks for your help or direction.

The performance of true duels will not be as good as keeping a cross over pipe but it sound cool. Bub 7 is a tad  bit quieter but less expensive than Rinehart's. Look at the bub web site. I can get good pricing on Bub 7 if you decide to go that way. As for a quieter Baffle , I talked with Bub and they said eventually they will have a quiet baffle but no date has been set.

The stock SE exhaust ...bike felt like it ran just fine.  As far as sound...what sound?  It may not have been a Gold Wing, but I sure felt like I was pretty darned close to it.

Thanks for the replies.  Bub gave me a date of early spring, but we will see if that holds true.  I don't think there is any difference between the Rienharts and the BUB's.  Is that the general consensus?
Looks like mid March on my bike in Ruby Red/Maroon.  I prefer the orange/Harvest gold, but I don't think they will run that paint again if I understand correctly.  Anyone know more about this?
Thanks,
Richaard

I have a 09 SEUC (Ruby) and found that the SE pipes on it were too quiet for my taste, ran well, but sewing machine sound.  I stopped at Tucson HD and they suggested CFR slip-ons (Cary Faas Racing), They look great and wow what a sound.  Lots of VRods use them, I have a email into an ebay store to see if they have some available. ($600 vs. $700 dealer) See if you can find some on a bike and listen to them or try youtube.
