50mm Throttle Body
« on: December 10, 2008, 05:37:19 PM »

Guys, does the 27623-05 SE 50mm throttle body fit on our standard 07 110 motor?  Book only says "Fits ’06-later Twin Cam EFI models (except ’08-later Touring) equipped with accessory performance cylinder head"

Fits 06 and 07 only. Would fit an 05 and earlier but the wiring is different. I have a slightly used one laying on my bench that would like a new home. PM or call me if interested.

Thanks Steve - I knew the years it would fit, not whether it would fit the stock 110 head though - are you saying it does?

EQCons,

The SE 50mm from 06/07 works just fine on the 110.   I had it on my 07 B/O and a friend also has one on his Red 07 110 SERK.  Just remember you will need a retune and that if you use the 4.89 injectors that came with it that you need to make that change in the map as well.

Thanks UB.  Getting a map that suits will be the hard part (no SERT tuners in this country!). How do the 4.89 injectors compare to the standard 110 injectors, do you know? Is there an advantage I guess I mean....

If your duty cycle is not at 70 + percent utilization doubt you would see a big difference with Proper Tune.

3.91 injectors vs. 4.89

So my existing map will be closer if I switch the 4.89 to 3.91, and little performance loss?

No i am not saying that.   The air flow will change and that means that the motor should be leaner than it was before.  Again SHOULD, can't say for sure since I have no idea how your bike is tuned and how close the VE's are.   I would not suggest riding the bike without retuning it.  Safe always better than sorry and trying to get by.

As I said, no tuners here, so I'd have to hope to find somebody with a SERT map that was close.....

I would suggest getting the mastertune, that has the built in ability with the narrow bands to help you tune the bike without a dyno.   That would be the best suggestion short of finding a good tuner which you say is not available.

Hi Jim............. how's it going. Have you had a look at these guys. Their bumf says that they can fine tune SERT's.

Hi Nige.

Bit of a long way off! :-)  (I meant "Scotland" by "this country!) :-)

Looking at the pic of their dyno, I'd bet an Ultra won't fit - too close to the wall.  There's a guy at Knockhill with an almost identical set up that I went to, and that was the problem there (Dynojet, as I had a PCIII on that bike, not a SERT)  Ended up going to another Dynojet place in Edinburgh, who charged a fortune and were utterly useless.  I have zero confidence in these places in the UK...

Cheers,

Jim

I actually run a Headquarters Pro Tuner on the bike which manages the AFR (and I'm quite impressed - runs much cooler).  It works with the SERT after a decent map is loaded, so if I could find somebody else with a SERT map that's good - done by a decent tuner in the US - that would do the job.  Trouble is, nobody seems happy to donate their maps - lots of requests for maps in the topic hereon, not many requests being filled though.  Surely somebody amongst all the members on here must have a decent map for a similar tune on a 110?  Yes, every motor is different, so it would not be perfect, but it would be closer than I can get here!

I agree with you  but  :jack:
Apologies me, Jim

I know not if their MAPs are available. It's 50$ the MAP.
