Progressive enters the touring chassis stabilizer arena
« on: December 11, 2008, 07:52:05 PM »

Full page ad in new AIM magazine.  Touring Link Stabilizer.  L shaped bracket attaches to 3 bolts in the pan, minimal, no cooling issues.  The link connects to the frame at the passenger floorboard/ swingarm pivot on one side.  Claims no impact on ground clearance.
Prive is $199.  Black only from what I see, an issue with painted frames.

Seems like it would put a lot of stress on just a couple of pan bolts.

Great question.  Since nobody has responded recently, I'd like to ask the same question.   :nixweiss:Anybody tried this one yet?

Are these type of devices helpful or needed on the '09 frame?  If so, what are your thoughts after riding with it?  :nixweiss:

'09s have an updated frame that is much more stable.  It is designed for the pre '09 bikes.
I guess I'll have to check other motorcycling web sites to see if someone else has tried this yet.

What worries me about this unit is it only utilizes only 3 oil pan holes. Lots of pressure on only 3 small holes

I had one break threads out of my pan. Might be because of too much power or riding style :nixweiss:

I don't like them. Too much stress on parts not designed for it.

Hey, I'm new to this forum, but not new to bikes. I can tell you that several of my brothers (and me) are running the TWR missing link stabilizer, and it works. REALLY WELL.  The 3 pan bolts run straight across instead of the other 90 degree brackets.
No wobble. No more nervous moments.
They come in chrome too in case thats your favorite color.
Now I can use the torque, anytime.
