Which is louder ?
Does " quiet baffle " means 80 decibel ???::) - That would be great for us Germans  ::)

I don't believe you will find an 80 db aftermarket muffler system on the market today. Harley changed their mufflers over the past few years to actually "sound" louder, but, they play with frequencies to meet EPA requirements, and still fall within the "80db" limits. There is a very involved testing procedure to meet these requirements and not all the sound is from the exhaust. They also take the sound reading from the entire motorcycle, drive belt, engine, trans, etc.
Lower frequencies are more "pleasent" to the ears than higher pitched exhausts. Think of loud 60's big block Chevy and loud Honda Civic......which sounds better to you?
Again, mufflers are a personal choice, choose what YOU like. Don't worry too much about a HP gain, you won't see much with any of the systems.

What are you basing this on?  The "quiet" baffles vs. the more open ones, or any aftermarket exhaust.? I have had a noticable improvement in torque with just swapping out my stock '08 SE Touring Muffs for the Fullsac 1.75" Slip-Ons, which are the quietest and don't cause me to piss of the neighbors or the law.  Is it the difference between a Pro Street and a stock bike?  No of course not.  But just about any aftermarket slip-on and a free breathing air cleaner will noticeably improve the driveability of the bike.

I don't know my Dyno numbers and could care less.  I don't know my 1/4 or 1.8 mile times and could care less.  I don't know my 0-anything times and could care less.  But I do like having a nice driveable bike that takes next to no thought on gear selection and ha the oomph to get me out of the way of a blind cager bent on my personal space.  A set of slip-ons, even quiet ones definetly went a long way towards that...  And next year when I add the race tuner I'm sure it'll be right where I want it.

I don't think the original post mentioned anything about "dyno numbers" or "torque" increases. I got the impression he was wanting to know about sound levels they deal with in Europe, and what direction to take to keep the law off his back. Again, sound if very subjective and each of us has our own likes and dislikes.
Yes, in our club we have drag pipes to stock systems, and everything in between. "Driveabilitiy" is also subjective, not really something you can measure on a dyno, it depends on your riding style, eg: quick throttle movements? smooth transition on and off? two up, loaded? see what I mean? My stock '09 is very "drivable" compared to my hot rod bike.....but, I like them both! Again, that's MY seat-of-the-pants feeling on MY bikes!
HP and torque numbers can change depending on setup, and, like you said, mufflers (or cores) and air cleaner. You will see small increases, more noise, better response, and not much torque or hp increases, typically seeing about 10 or so hp on the top end. We've had lots of bikes here on the dyno, and most will show a nice increase in numbers, but don't expect a rocket with just some simple changes. Bottom line: get whatever mufflers you want, whatever air cleaner looks good to you, get a tuner/tune or whatever you want to make that bike run and perform the way YOU want. We can offer suggestions to others using our own experiences on OUR bikes, let them decide if it'll work for THEIR ride! Again........IMHO!!

BTW: next year (about Jan or Feb) I too will be about where I want with my '09: Race tuner, Fullsac head pipe, my existing mufflers (with 1 3/4 Fullsac cores). I'm doing this mainly for engine heat issues, nothing more. I gotta say, though, the 1 3/4 cores DO sound pretty awesome!!!

Did anyone of the 1.75" fullsac cores ever checked the loudness in decibels ?
If anybody will be possible to do this ( at idle and at half of the maximum rpm ) then this would be a great help for me to compare .

Hopefully you will be able to blow this up and read it. This test was done on a 103" engine. It shows 87 decibels at idle and 92 decibels at 3,200 rpms for the Fat cat with the quiet baffle, versus 98 and 113 with the standard Fat Cat baffle.

I was fixing to say.........heard my new Fatcat today for the first time.  Ir is nowhere near as loud as the true duals and Rush Slip-ons I had on Thump when she was a 107cid, but it is still quite "authoritative,"  and she was never brought past 2500 rpms today.  Standard baffle.  She's loud.
