What a person pays for their bike is kind of a personal thing anyway.  You should only pay what it is worth to you to get it, and I believe that is what most of us do.  I put a deposit on my CUSE4 months before scheduled delivery.  I paid MSRP, dealer prep, and freight. (Not to mention CA emissions and sales tax just for the pleasure of living here.)  I know that if I had not done that, some other bozo would have come in behind me and done it and I would have had to work my a$$ off to find the bike I wanted elsewhere.  Maybe it would happen, maybe not.  I wasn't willing to risk it, so I jumped in. I know the dealer could have sold that bike 2 times before it hit the shop, and probably 20 times before I picked it up a day later.  I got the bike I wanted at a price I was willing to pay and I'm quite happy with it.  Some more patient folks in areas with higher dealer concentration and maybe different economical environs could be shaking their heads at my stupidity, but what the hey?  I'm fat, dumb, and happy on my new ride!  I did my part to stimulate the sagging economy and help shore up a local financial institution!  Good Americans everywhere should be joining me to help get us out of this slump! 8) :mango:

Hell Yes!!...Sounds like a Bail Out to me......Let us Bail  the cash out your wallet..with all the new upgrades you 've got to have.....Ok Boys Hit it>>> Let's build a list...

I'm one of those that drove 800 miles for my 09 SESTS at MSRP+shipping+$500 dealer prep (and a little more for "documentation & the usual $$$$ for 7 year warranty), but for several reasons.

Wanted to go local & pay the inflated $1,600 dealer prep to establish a "prefered" customer relationship but not available until 3 to 6 months; a little south in Vancouver where salesman Jamie was very helpful & done a friend good with an 08 SEUC but not sure when they would get any SESTS; found a few no dealer prep places 3 hours south in Oregon but same wait or not my color; or the closest in Eastern Washington jacked up $2,000 dealer prep for one in a couple months.

Anyway, driving over 800 miles to Birds of Prey in Caldwell, Idaho was well worth it. They treated me real good and the ladies kept my wife at ease while I went thru the paper work. Not the greatest deal but not overinflated so I feel it was "fair", and they treated me nice and I was able to enjoy my ride sooner than later which we are now in over a foot of snow.

Also, everytime I look at my ride, let alone when I'm on the road, it is worth every $$$$$$$$$. :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

I just could't get past the fairing until I rode it...what an awsome machine with increadible performance. I traded in an 2008 SERK '' I thought it handled great''

My dealer had 2 back up deposits on this 09....We installed Cobra exhaust and the 09 SUPER TUNNER ...

Damn you knothead. Every time I get my mind set that I'  NOT getting a new 09 SERG, somebody like you comes along and posts a picture that makes my knees go weak and I find my wallet in my hand without having remembered reaching for it.

Lucky you, that is without question the most beautiful CVO H-D to roll out of York in many many years. All of the 09 SERGS are, in fact, I think the only reason I've resisted is that at best (mostly in my dreams) I can only afford one and I can't decide on color. All three have their merits.

You're right, there's always someone out there willing to pay top dollar if you don't; especially for a limited edition. The dealer we went to saturday still has his on hold with two other people waiting in line after me so I made some phone calls on tuesday afternoon. Out of the other four Ruby Red SEUC's I found around here, two of them were already sold and one was traded to another dealer. I have the last one on hold until the holidays are over.

The local dealers (4) each have at least 1 SERG each. Some have 2 on display. The ultras are a different case as they seem to go quickly. Silver grey is the only color not available I've been told.  :) :nervous: :nervous:

The SERG is the nicest looking machine since the 04/05 SEEGs.........so how is it the SEUC is outselling the SERG?

I've got a deposit down on a 2010 CVO, hoping the SEUC has ran it's course and they'll either come out with another SEEG or a SESG. :nixweiss:  If the SEUC is outselling the other CVOs the we'll probably see another SEUC in 2010. :(

The CVO SEUC is a Geezer-Glide on steroids. Since the standard model Geezer-Glide is the best selling FD H-D, it stands to reason that the CVO Geezer-Glide would be the top seller in the CVO line-up.

Next year is next year. Unlike a lot of folks on the site, I don't think we'll see much change in the SERG from 2009 -2010. Like I said in a post several months back, I had a conversation with the East Coast Sales Manager from H-D Inc at Big Moose H-D in Maine and what he told me as to how the 09 SERG was conceived and designed, leads me to believe that if you want a FD CVO Bagger they want you to buy a SEUC. I think all of you waiting for 2010 thinking the SERG will come with lowers and a tour-pak will be disappointed.

Just my $0.02

I think the SERG is a good looking machine, but as far as it being the nicest looking one, well, that's just a matter of personal opinion.  ;)  It is rare if ever that you'll catch any of the dealerships around here with SEUCs on the floor, but I've seen the SERGs at quite a few dealers.  I'm a little more partial to the Electra Glide look myself, so naturally, I think the SEUCs are the best looking CVOs.   I think the SEUCs, as long as they are still selling like they are, will become a staple of the CVO line up.  They may skip a year or two if they start dropping in sales, but they'll be back as long as the FDs are still the number one selling bikes in the HD lineup.  JMHO.

No, but that's what happens when a car dealer opens a Harley dealership. The reason I bought a used bike last time is because of them. They just don't deal...not on the price, trade in, financing, nothing. All the damage to my 98 RG bike and mechanicals before the wreck was done in their shop. So I'll go there for a HOG meeting once in a while but will never trade with them again. I'm blessed and have a good wrench down the street from me when I need one.  Doc

We had a car dealer take over an HD shop here in Houston and he is driving it into the ground.  They are not willing to negotiate either, They brought in a new service manager (from a car dealership) and they just don't get it. They are bringing in other car salesmen and driving off the real biker salesmen. They're piling extras on all the bikes and of course jacking up the prices excessively.

I for one will not go back there till they get rid of the car people at the HD shop.
