Street Glide Friend Needs Help
« on: December 16, 2008, 02:54:19 PM »

My riding buddy has an '08 Street Glide and he hates the fairing mirrors. Anyone have suggestions of how he can replace them with mirrors that improves rear vision? Thanks.

you can put normal mirrors on but if you "remove" the fairing mounted ones you will have holes

Not my idea, (I read somewhere else) when you remove fairing mirrors put LED lights in the holes connected to turn signals

Yep, Speakers.  The general manager at the dealer close to my office rides a Streetglide for a demo bike.  He removed the mirrors and installed some little tweeter speakers.... looks good too.

Nope, don't think so. At least they weren't in '06.

I'd vote color matched inner. The led alternative sounds good and inexpensive too.

Take a look at this company's fairing mounted mirror:

http://www.wickedimage.com/

It's the only aftermarket fairing mounted mirror I'm aware of that does not also look like crap.

The holes would be facing the rider, so what good would be lights?

I plead my ignorance right up front on this one, but isn't a Streetglide with handle bar mirrors and tall windshield just an Electraglide?

I'm sure there are some subtle differences, but in my mind that's about it.
