Hello from Middle Tennessee!
« on: December 23, 2008, 07:32:43 PM »

So, today, I put a deposit on a brand spankin' new '09 FLTRSE3 (Silver & Titanium)...

!!! I AM SO STOKED !!!

My first Harley Touring bike was a used 2005 FLTRI in Black Pearl. Bought it in November 2005. I loved it. I customized it (Wheels, seat, windshield, chrome, *LOTS* of skulls, etc). I built the motor (98ci, 10.5:1, .615 lift gear-drive, heads, D&D FatCats -- 99ponies & 109lbs of twisty madness). Then some careless lady in a Hummer decided the bike was part of her demolition derby. :sauer055: Fortunately, my passenger and I were spared injury.

I traded my busted 2005 FLTRI -- unrepaired, mind you -- for a 2007 FLTR in Vivid Black. Trade in June 2007. I love it. I customized it (Wheels, seat, windshield, *LOTS* of black, etc). No motor build, just a ThunderMax, SE A/C and V&H ProPipes.

Along the way, I'd learned about the FLTRSE/2 in 2000-2001. I swore to myself that I'd buy the FLTRSE3. When I traided, I prayed that Harley wouldn't introduce the FLTRSE3 very soon. I breathed a sigh of relief at the 2008 CVO line. Then came 2009...

By the time I learned that the FLTRSE3 was real, they were hard to find. Real hard to find. I've been checking dealership within a 300 mile radius in a casual sort of way hoping for a miracle.

Today, my miracle came. The sister dealership to my home dealership showed they had three FLTRSE3's available in their online inventory. When I called to check it out, two were already spoken for. The third, a Stardust Silver / Titanium Dust beauty (my preferred colors scheme) was available and would be here in Late February.  :apple:

I waffled long enough to call the little lady and a couple of friends for "approval"... then I put down the deposit. No way was I letting this bike get away from me.

So, here I am... waiting to take delivery on my third FLTR... This time it's the REAL DEAL!!
