Just got back from looking at the bike, like the seller said all was there plus tour pak LED light and bag lights , stage 0ne a/c and down load, se mufflers , highway pegs and windshield and trim piece. Bike smoked on start up, blue smoke. Chrome wheels were all pitted and flaking, stone chips on the fairing very noticeable also on bag tops. Would not come off the 19,000 price. So pasted on it. Sorry you wasted a trip.  Can't imagine why sellers continue to misrepresent the condition of bikes.  Guess they think you're going to buy it over the phone and wire the money...   Considering your inspection it's about a 15k bike IF the motor checks out.

You'll find what you want at much better price in the current economic climate.  Good luck.

That seller did not mention the wheel issue? What a turd! That is a deal breaker itself as those babies are over a grand apiece. Paint issues can get very expensive fast, sorry you had the wasted time and keep looking, the good ones are out there.

Hey HDDOCFL,

If you haven't already made a deal.  I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry.  Currently there are 4 - 05 SEFBs, 7 - 06 SEFBs with the larger rear tire and 2 SEDs on Ebay.
 One 05 only has 2600 miles and 2 - 06's have less than 1K.  You will note some of these bikes have best offers, don't be affraid to make offers lower than buy it now.
  This is off season and most buyers are few and sales are down.  Me personally, buy a low mileage bike.  The guy may say he rode it easy, but if it was your bike would you ride it easy?  Lets face it these SEFBs beg to go fast.  I ride fast on both my 06 SEUC and SEFB.  The SEFB however, turns me into a kid - going mach 5 with my hair on fire is quite common.  Best of luck with your search and purchase.  Ride Safe Randy

On the way back from looking at the 05 SEEG , I stopped by the dealers here and they have a 09SERG in orange on the floor, feel in love with it, but did not want to lay out 34,000 for it, came home and told the wife about it and to my surprize she said buy it !!! Well its nice to see that there was reason that bike was going so cheap. I'd much rather pay a fair price for a quality specemin and I'm sure the rest of us would too.

Where have you been the last couple of months. The bike is worth 19k in EXCELLENT CONDITION. That is it. If you get more for the bike great, but with the economy like it is now he will be lucky to 16k for a bike in that condition. The SEEG's are not bringing the money they did a year ago. There was a B/B on e bay a few weeks ago for 16500.00. If I had not already owned one I would of jumped on that deal. I actually thought the loan value on an 05 was around 19k. It appears it is not.

Yes I pick up the SERG O/B Mon.    Doc  Guess it was not a wasted trip after all, If I had not gone into the dealers at that time I would have had to order one. They had just put it out on the floor the day I walked in.

I believe you will get the extra enjoyment out of the 09 anyway.  It's a shame that guy let his '05 get in that type of shape.  Do you think the wheels looked like that when he apparently stopped riding it about 2 years ago?  I'm wondering if the salt air combined with letting it sit without washing it contributed to the wheels pitting badly.  Overall, it sounds like he didn't do much to maintain it and rode it hard.  Anyway, congrats on the new bike.

The 'mirror'chrome 5 spoke wheels for the '05 SEEG's are much prettier than the stock ones anyway, IMHO.  So, that could be a up-grade if the wheels were shot. The paint is another deal, entirely, 'cause it's expensive to replace.    spyder
