New (to me) Eagle in the roost...
« on: December 26, 2008, 06:19:45 PM »

NEW PICS on page 2
I was out minding my own business, and look what followed me home:

12,000 miles on it... still had the rider backrest (passenger backrest and lowers MIA tho).. but seeing it in person, I just had to take it home  ;D
Best pics I could provide at the moment.. better ones to follow

Did you have to whistle or did it follow along on its own like a good girl?

Either way it looks like a gorgeous score.  Here's  :drink: to good wishes on it being as much for you as my red SERG has been for me :2vrolijk_21: .

Congrats on the acquisition of your "Classic SERG!" :2vrolijk_21:  You did well finding one with such low mileage!  Enjoy! :drink:

Believe the rider's backrest can still be obtained through the dealer network - it's how I had to get mine since it wasn't with the bike when I got it, either.

Looking forward to some more photos when you get a chance!

Thanks (to all of you for the kind words).. The passenger backrest shouldn't be a problem as far as the backrest itself, but I hope I can find the correct CVO pad for it. I've got a passenger backrest for my '07 RG already which snaps in, but I'd rather get the "correct" piece, as I want to keep it as close to OE as I can to preserve it. (I've got the '07 to mod if the mood strikes me!) The factory cover is MIA as well as the lowers, so it should be fun trying to round up stuff for it.

Rode it about 150 miles today and was impressed how close in power it is to my '07. The original owner didn't do anything to the engine that I can find (the air cleaner hasn't been switched over to s SE even), but he did have a SE 6-speed tranny done (bonus!). Actually, it runs quieter than my RattleDrive (oops, I mean CruiseDrive) factory 6-speed.  ;D

All in all, I'm very happy with it, and hope to enjoy putting miles on it. I'm sure I'll have some questions to ask, but I'll save them for later on.

The detachable backrest pad is part # 52263-00 and still shows as an active part number.  The original bike cover is 91688-00 but is reported by many to be unobtainable in its original form.  The replacement you get when you order that part number has been reported by a couple of members here to be a general full dresser cover and not the nice thick cover with the Eagles on it that was originally supplied with the bikes.
