Need info on a custom seat
« on: December 28, 2008, 11:48:13 PM »

Hey guys I am kicking abound the thought of buying an after market seat ( two up touring).  NOTE: I am 6'5" and weigh around 350 lbs.  I just purchased an '06 SEUC and noticed that the seat is much different than my '97 ultra.  I seem to be sitting up on the tank. :nervous:  I know that this is a newer bike and some changes have been made over the years but I am wondering if anyone else has had this same problem and what you did to make it more comfortable.  I live in Michigan and still have not ridden the bike except up on the trailer to bring it home.  I wish I had more time in the saddle but the weather has not helped. I am looking for comfort too.

Thanks guys,

Topper

Ps. I know I have brought this up in different threads but I thought I would poll all before I try to make up my mind and buy something thinking it is what I need. :nervous:

Corbin offers a seat that will sit you back about two inches. I have one, and at six feet it made a difference for me.

If you are interested I have a Corbin seat, with matching ostrich center panel, and rider backrest. The seat is heated and I have a harness that allows direct plug in to the Harley harness. I am asking $400.00 (plus shipping) the seat is virtually new, It will not fit my 08, so it is sitting wrapped in plastic in the original Corbin box. If you like I will send you pictures.

If it doesn't fit an '08, and I assume it isn't for an '09, it should fit your 06 just fine. ;)

Motor1 and 49445CVO.

Maybe we could work  a deal.  I don't need the seat just the back rest if it will fit a full size tourpack.  If it matches the stock ostrich panel seat then I am interested in the back rest.  Want to put a full size tour pack on my 06 SEUC so a matching backrest would be great.

If Motor1 isn't interested in the package then I would take both but if the seat works for him then I could purchase the back rest.

Send pics.

I would be interested if the seat will fit the 06 and if it moves you back so your not on the tank so much.  I have read several threads about the CORBIN seats and I had one for my other non Harley bike.  I just want to make sure it would fit and is going to be more comfortable.  It is for the two up with the tour pak on right? Not the low profile seat for no tour pak?

Just a word of advice on the Corbin Seat here. Corbin also offer a forward positon seat placing you further up, so you may want to make sure which seat model is being offered here..   :nixweiss:

I will post pictures on Wednesday, the seat moves you back vs stock CVO seat, I am 6'1" and felt like I was sitting on the tank. It is a full size seat, ( including passenger area) if you need more room this will definitely work. Also the back rest I am referring to is for the rider, not the passenger. With the leather tour pak the seat style matches the backrest on the tour pak.
