Kuryakyn GPS/fuel door
« on: December 31, 2008, 10:18:37 PM »

Has anyone tried the Kuryakyn GPS mount / fuel door? You guys have talked me into a ZUMO, however; I don't care for handlebar mount, and a fairing mount is not an option due to the factory installed dashpad.
One of my concerns is how cleanly the wires/harness can be concealed on this type of install.

As always, thanks for your help/opinions,

                                                           William

I was considering it, but a previous thread had many not liking the the placement low and out of direct sight of roadway.
I decided on the best handle bar mount I could find (techmount)

Hehehehehe... comes from reading most posts, just knowing the right "key words" to search with.... and most of all "blind luck". ;D

As a rule if I see you on line and the thread needs another reference, I do not even try to find it. you often have posted it faster than I could find it

Thanks, but you should still try I'll have a brain fart every now and then and come up with a blank. What I try to do is use specific words I think will get me hits, and search specific boards in the forum the information might be found instead of searching the entire forum. Once you get good w/the system it's really easy to get the desired results most of the time. Oh, and one other thing.... some of the things that are asked a lot I have the info saved as PM's to myself. ;)

Thank you Fire, I feel like an idiot for not finding that on my own. I did some checking Kuryakyn does offer an 08-09 lid, I am still tempted to try it, just not sure how well I can conceal the harness, or at least make it look very neat.

Unless I was looking at that thing incorrectly, I was thinking that you are going to have a hard time hiding wires and then when you go to get gas, you are flipping the GPS unit also and changing the position of the wires again. I saw it on Kuryakyn's site and looked at it only quickly and decided quickly that it didn't make a lot of sense.  Maybe I should read the other posts on it.  Perhaps there is something I missed.
