I can send you a independent report that used the 11 test that are used to test motor oil and you can see for yourself. The higher the number the better, testing on 10W40, Amsoil - 769, Mobil1 - 745, many entries down the list Royal Purple - 641.

Howie don't start that dino chit again!!! ;D

I guess I am the pessimist here.  IMO It would depend on who is performing the test, and how are they paid.  That is why every company recommends different lubricants, it's based on thier stock options.

I have noticed many names on many trucks coming and going from the local refineries here in New Jersey.

I have always jokingly said there is one big tank and we all get a straw then call it what you want.

A true independent test is run on set test using several factors and measurements. These test are what is used to give an API/SAE J300 rating. If anyone wants a copy PM me with your email address and I can send you all 177 pages, more info than you ever wanted to know about oil.

I tried the Royal Purple in my 05 103" FLSTC. I did not notice a drop in temps. Only used it for 1 oil change, 3000 miles. Maybe I did not give it enough time. Went back to Amsoil after and have been running it since. Aprox. 20000 miles on the bike now.

If that's the case, then all I want to know is what you're running.  ;D

Yeah same here..Dino..changed every 2000..trans and primary every 4000...I am not looking to squeak the last bit of horse power out of my bike. With regular oil chages and proper warm up I have never had any failures due to lubrication issues, I guess I'm stuck in my old school ways....got my first harley in 1970 and have always stuck to this tried and true maintenace schedule :orange:
