chip on gas tank
« on: September 09, 2005, 04:31:17 PM »

I own a 05 sefb, I was just cleaning my bike up after a 700km ride when I discovered a rock chip in the front of my gas tank. Just looking for any ideas of how to fix it with out doing whole tank as it is just a small chip.  Thanks to any help.

Rig, that kind of thing is just going to happen.  If you're going to enjoy riding it than things will get chips.  If misery loves company I've got three or four on my outer fairing and two or three on each lower on my SEEG.  I just touch them up with the HD touch up paint and then go out on the road looking for more  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Life's journey is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out shouting Holy Chit......... What a Ride!

A good air brush guy should be able too touch that up.A friend of mine had a 2003 fatboy, silver and black, got a chip out of his rear fender about the size of a dime ,you could never tell it happened. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I baught my platinum and slate SE Fatboy with a chip in the rear fender. Dealer says it came off the truck that way and had ordered a new rear fender for my bike, been checking with my dealer weekly about the fender..........3 months have passed still " out of stock"!  What really sucks is I plan on doing a few mods which require drilling out the fender, but I dont want to do the work twice...........maybe next year??
