So...........beautiful morning here in north Alabama. Roads are damp, but no biggie. I decided to go for a ride and burn off some more break-in miles on the green bike's new engine.
Stopped to get gas before heading to the house. Needed to get into the left saddlebag and the latch fell apart! Was able to recover one screw and thread it back in place to keep the lid on for the short ride home. There are five screws that hold the top of the latch to the top of the saddlebag, H-D P/N: 3595. Decided to check the other side. One screw is missing and the other four are loose.
Last work on these bags was Feb 2007.........bad paint replacement of the lowers. No idea if those jobs were done right or not, but figured I'd pass this along, so everyone can check their bags and see if their screws have worked loose.
Since this happened on an SEUC, that's the board in which I've posted it, but if it is deemed an important enough check, please move it to the appropriate board so the SEEG, FLTRSEI, and 1st GEN FLHRSEI folks have visibility as well.
