Dealers In Seattle?
« on: January 06, 2009, 05:38:18 PM »

After 30 years of riding the time has come to get the CVO, Ultra Classic Electra Glide.

I understand that prices are not negotiable for this high end bike, but there are other things that I would like to consider when purchasing one.

Here in Seattle, there are several dealers to chose from.

I was wondering if anyone had any stories ( good or bad) to tell about their experiences with these dealers...

Do they have good trade in values?
Any discounts on service or options?
Do they treat you like this is a special deal?

Thanks

Welcome to the site glad to have you join us, and good luck in finding your CVO. :2vrolijk_21: Can't speak of dealers in your area, but I wouldn't pay any more then MSRP, and would negotiate all other fees. You have one thing in your favor now and that is bikes aren't moving, so you should be able to find some dealer that is hungry for your business.

Hey Larry! :drink: Warm Welcome from Memphis TN. I don't know much about the dealers in Seattle except that's where the Seahawks bought Mike Holgren his CVO Ultra. May I suggest you find the same dealer where you can ride with Mike and then invite him to join this wonderful site. If he gives you any problems tell him ....JR said Call me or start answering your voice mails! Don't make me come down there!!! Good Luck on your bike purchase journey Larry! :2vrolijk_21:

Hey Yall,
I know that Mike received a CVO ultra classic,  but I have to ask the question. They couldnt get him the silver/blue one, i.e. Seahawk colors?  His is the burgundy/black one...

Welcome to the CVO site from Port Orchard WA. My I suggest looking at Latus Harley in Portland. Over the last 20 years I have bought from Lynnwood,Downtown Harley,Destination Harley , Legands Harley, NorthWest Harley and Latus. Latus by far was the best to deal with. Good inventory, good prices and good people. The worst would be Legands whom I would never darken there door again. Then it's a crap shoot on the others.Service is another matter, if you want a local shop Northwest has exultant service people. This is just my personal experience , but I have been at it a while. :2vrolijk_21:

Welcome to this great site from Minnesota! You have come to the right place for advice and support.

After 26 years in sales, I have never believed in paying retail, especially in a down economy. My suggestion is to get your financing arranged before going in to the dealer so you are talking about a cash deal. Do some serious shopping at other dealers in other states beforehand so you know what your cash could get you elsewhere. For a purchase like this, the dealer should treat you special. If he didn't, I would find another dealer or talk to the management.

I saw 6 CVO's at St. Paul HD on Monday and about 100 other bikes looking for buyers. The man with the cash should be in the drivers seat. If you don't like to negotiate, find a friend who does and let them speak for you. Don't grind the dealer into the ground but be aware it is a buyers market and is getting more so each and every day. Look at all the SE bikes on ebay, use them to negotiate if you need to. Unless you are looking to buy the most desirable bike in the most desirable color, you shouldn't have to pay near MSRP.

Just my $.02.
