If you have the HD Stage 1 AC and race tuner with dyno can you replace the filter with the K&N without having to do another retune?

It should not affect the tune by anything sustantial at all. Not enough to require retuning! ;)

Be a little careful as the "Stage I" gets thrown about pretty freely by HD.  There are Stage I kits that are as small as an air cleaner upgrade and there are Stage I kits that are as much as air cleaner, ECM download, cylinder heads and more.

I would advise going to the Harley site and download the Screamin Eagle Catalog
http://www.harley-davidson.com/EX/RAC/seagle/en/consentform.asp?separts=All&locale=en_US&bmLocale=en_US
and then you can go to the dealer or whoever and then talk apples to apples.

Like Twolanerider said there are different interpretations of what is Stage I, II etc.

if you do have the 103 kit - that has the forged stroker crank and all.

its one of those odd kits hd did that include lots of really good parts

its the same stroke as the 96 has but done with much higher end parts. not all that much power - but you can beat on it all day.

however i have no idea how to tell from outside. one clue would be if it has a stock air cleaner assy with extra factory cutouts in the rear lower corner of the air cleaner - those only come on the 103 stroker kits, 103 police bikes [prior to 2007 the police bikes have the forged crank] and some 110 baggers. if its got the other air cleaner and heads - you may have to do lots of digging to figure out which crank you have.

the sleeper bikes are the pre 2007 police bikes with 103 engines. they have all the trick parts inside.

?? Not sure what ya mean here, but NO 110's came with the forged flywheels from the SE stroker kit! Ever! Nor are they the same as any other 4-3/8" flywheel assembly. The flywheel assembly changed in '06 Dynas and all '07's & up. These have been the problem flywheels compared to the earlier 3/8" leg flywheels HD had made previously. But all the new flywheels are junk compared to the SE forged flywheels. I definitely wouldn't beat on a stock 110 bottom end with a hopped up top end, all day long, that's for sure! But I break the strong chit too! ::) ;D ;)

i didnt say that any 110's came with the forged crank. they dont - unfortunately.

but the 103 kit for pre 07's did

and the specs on the pre 07 103 police had the same part.

but some 110 baggers DO have the same air cleaner that the 103 kits had and the police bikes had.

what i was trying to get across is that if you are just standing there looking at a bike - and it does have the air cleaner with the cutouts in the  rear lower area [three square holes] AND it is prior to 07 [and NOT a 110] then it is likely to have the forged crank.

Oh, sorry man! I misinterpreted your point. :-[

The '07 SEK, Dyna and Springers came with an SEAC. The SEUC didn't. In '08's they changed em, and I'm not sure on '08's/'09's what has em and what doesn't. ;)
