CVO Magazine
« on: January 08, 2009, 01:07:47 PM »

I was wondering, How much trouble it would be to get a magazine printed?  :nixweiss: I imagine quite a bit.
I wonder if we as a club, we could garner enough talent to write, edit, typeset, print, distribute and sell a "CVO Screamin Eagle" magazine.
Who better than a group of men & women who have been purchasing, testing, breaking, repairing, modifying and discussing the CVOs. since it's inception.

I would be open to a new career and a new location.  Tired of Joisey and landscaping.  Probably too wild an idea.

I like the idea of a CVO magazine but I doubt if in this economy a new motorcycle magazine would sell with all the competition out there. Magazines and newspapers are loosing subscribers since many people get their info from the internet. Think of engine problems etc. If you had a problem and needed an answer would you wait months for someone to research, write about and mail an article to you?

I can't speak for anybody else, but I can't seem to get enough to read.  The ones I don't subscribe to, I end up picking up at discount magazine resellers.

Isn't this (CVOHarley) an "E-Magazine" (electronic)?? Not to say what you are suggesting wouldn't work, but a live interactive, up to date "E-magazine" is a lot better (IMO). :nixweiss:

I'd buy it for the articles NOT the pictures.

GREAT IDEA..... You're in charge  :D

No seriously, I think d00d is right.  Can't get any better than this forum.

And as someone else eluded to, magazines and newspapers are fast becoming a thing of the past.  Most people (younger folks for sure) go to the internet for info

It's an idea that would never work.  The writing in the existing rags is so mediocre that no one here would stoop to competing.

Don't see print dying for awhile yet. I absolutely refuse to take a laptap into the can.
