I've got a bunch o stiches from one (and from a chainsaw and a hedge trimmer) but haven't had to lose a toe over it.

Being a novice woodworker I have been following the Saw Stop since it was first announced. The system really is amazing in it's speed. The speed is a little hard to comprehend, but then again you can drive your car into a wall at 60 mph and before your body moves an inch there is a fully inflated air bag in your face.

The reason you don't see this much is the cost. "Steve" pushed it to all the the table saw manufacturers and they all balked at the cost. SO he did what you would expect, he made his own branded table saw.

The machine is very good, and gets great reviews as a table saw with he added benefit if the stop system.
SO far they only make two saws -  contractor and cabinet version.  Many woodworkers like myself are still waiting for the e"hybrid" version to come out. Then hopefully cost will be affordable.

I browsed the thread and didn't see this, so I'll mention it now.

There's a new show out like Mithbusters, it's called Time Warp.  These two guys are into video big time and they did the video with the guy's finger into the blade.

They do all sorts of shows, like on skateboarders jumping their boards without hands etc.  Pouring water into a grease fire, what an explosion that was and all in super slow motion.  These guys video at about 5k frames/second.

Not sure what channel it's on, Discovery etc I think.
