Terrie and I got up with intentions of doing a decent day ride today. We left the house at 10:00 a.m. in 38F weather but very sunny. We still weren't sure where we were going as we headed to the freeway.....we'd discussed several options. By the time we got to the freeway we decided to head for Monterey Bay, where it was forecasted to be 70F today.
As we went over the pass by San Luis Resavoir going up over Pacheco Pass, I decided to stop by Corbin in Hollister to talk to somebody face to face to get a name and phone number for Spyder so that he can get that heated seat that he's been getting the run around on. So when we got near Hollister we took the necessary turn and headed to Corbin. Much to our surprise, Corbin was closed!. I've never known it to be closed on a Sat. and I couldn't help but wonder. As Terrie and I headed back to the hiway towards Monterey we discussed it and decided it must be due to the economy.....hitting the after market manufacturers also.

As we came over Pacheco Pass it warmed up quickly and we had to stop and start shedding the heated gear. Unusually, the closer we got to the ocean, the warmer it got. Soon, we stopped in Sand City, Ca. where I finally shed the jacket and continued on in a long sleeve t-shirt. This is where I again became conscious of how appreciative I am to live in this great state and wish I were rich enough to just fly Gary, Neal and others out here to be able to enjoy this with us.
Here we are in Sand City as Terrie is shedding the heated gear and the layers......
