man, you don't even wanna see the pictures I would post as soothing to my soul...they'd all be from the battle of Fallujah.

Nothing more soothing then seeing a JDAM brought in within inches of your desired impact point, and folks wanting to meet their maker, meet him.

ahhh...

Maybe yours is a twisted soul!  :cucumber: :pepper: :2vrolijk_21:

How does the quote go?

"You don't win a war by dying for your country, you win by making some other poor bastard die for his"
was it Patton?

"No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country.
He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."
- Attributed to General George Patton Jr

Twisted...that would be a place to start. :drink:

Good ones Don, God Bless you!

And you.  May He ride on those journeys illustrated with such ability here.  May he do so often. And may we continue to share His great images as we've just done.  However He may speak to us to do so.

                                                "God's Delight"

 Good morning friends,
Please read John 21:15-19

Your law is my delight.  Psalm 119:174

Each of us has a vulnerability. It may be something addictive such as drugs or alcohol, or it may be something seemingly harmless and perhaps even good such as food, friendship, or work. After His resurrection, Jesus asked Peter this personal and probing question: "Do you love Me more than these?" (John 21:15). We need to ask ourselves this question, "What do I love more than Jesus?" When Satan finds out what we love more than God, he knows how to manipulate us. But he loses his power over us when we delight in the Lord.

  I love Thee, because Thou hast first loved me,
  And purchased my pardon on Calvary's tree;
  I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;
  It ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.

 God takes delight in us,
how can we help but delight in Him?

 My dear friends, I ask that this morning you lift up the family of Richard Hawkins in your prayers for God's comfort. Richard has been on life suppport since Monday when he was in a motorcycle crash. But the brain scan tests they did yesterday shows no brain activity whatsoever. The family was going to remove him from the life support yesterday,but decided to wait until this morning. This is a very heartbreaking decision for anyone to have to make concerning their loved one. My heart goes out to them. Richard was the treasurer for the South Central Chapter of the SJHR. My husband Admiral and I are  with the TRI-County SJHR, so he was our brother. I really appreciate your doing this for his family. God Bless.

                                           "Breathless"

 Good morning friends,
Please read Psalm 8.

Be exalted, O God,
above the heavens;
let Your glory be
above all the earth.  Psalm 57:5

When was the last time something took your breath away because of its majesty? I'm not talking about some electronic gadget or some special effects in a movie. I'm talking about a nighttime sky show such as an eclipse of the moon. Or walking outside on a starry night to see Orion or Pleiades; constellations mentioned thousands of years ago in Scripture (Amos 5:8) that are still glowing today for our enjoyment. I'm speaking of  the sound and light show that accompanies God's way of watering the earth with food-producing rain. At creation, God gave man breath. Then he  took man's breath away with the beauty, grandeur, and eloquence of a universe of marvels created by His own hand. Look around. Examine what God has done. Then, breathless, proclaim His majesty.

The wonder of creation speaks
To everyone in different ways;
But those who know and love the Lord
Can for His handiwork give praise.

All creation is an outstretched finger pointing toward God.

God Bless.

                                             "What Do Others See?"
  Good morning friends,
Please read 1 Peter 2:9-17

A merry heart makes a
cheerful contenance.  Proverbs 15:13

1 Peter 2 reminds us that people are observing our lives (verses 11-12). To be good representatives of Jesus Christ, Peter teaches that we're to be submissive to authority, to live an honorable life, to do good works, and to fear God (verses 12-17). The testimony of our lives can give us opportunities to share the good news of Jesus. So we might want to ask ourselves, "What do people see in me?"

Help me to sing a joyful song
For those bowed down with care,
A song of hope and freedom
For those in dark despair.

Do others see Jesus in you?

Live in such a way that
those who know you but don't
know God will come to know
God because they know you.

God Bless.

Actually, I'm not kidding.  I was also born one week late - 17 Nov and my initials are SMC - dad always sort of kidded about calling me Ullyses Sean M Cary...

I'm the ultimate lifer.
