2001 SERG-replacement tires
« on: January 11, 2009, 01:44:17 PM »

Howdy fellow SERG riders....

In preparation for a trip to Daytona....I need to replace both tires on the scooter. Any suggestions on brand? I've only done this once before on an '03 Road King....and just went with the stock Dunlop replacement.

There's gotta be a better tire.

Appreciate the comments....

Metzelers ME 880 Marathon, and they are radials.

I like the Michelin Commanders that the Harley dealers are carrying now.  Whatever you choose, you're right, just about any of the alternatives provide much better performance than the OEM Dunlops.

Unless they've released something since the last time I looked eight or ten months ago the Metz tires in sizes for Harley touring bikes are the ME 880s but not the ME 880 Radials.

Has anyone gone from the std rear tire  130/90h-16 on A 2000 SERG  to a 140/90h-16 with the pulley spacer and std belt 8) 8) ? Any issues ? I either am going with an Avon venom or metz me880 for some extra traction. The  130 dunlop sucks. )
