Beacause it was 78 degrees today in Houston January 22, We just got back from a evening ride in the SERG. A little to cool for a swim in the pool yet..but the the palm trees and flowers look good.

  We'll not talk about the HOT summers and humidity in July and August!!

...except to say that the HOT summers and humidity are the very reason I don't live in Houston... or New Orleans... or Mobile... or anywhere in Florida.

I lived in Texas for 19 years (4 in Waco while in college and 15 in the Dallas area). After getting sunburned on an 80+ degree New Year's Day at the Cotton Bowl in 1980, I decided that Texas has two seasons -- summer and Indian summer.

I moved back to Tennessee to four the natural beauty (hills & trees which I'm sure you've read about  8)) and for the seasons... among other reasons.

I'll be moving to NC, SC, or TN when my youngest finishes HS in 2010.  Don't panic, I'm bringing my guns, bikes, but leaving the Kennedys in MA+ NY.
