Chrome bullet rear axle adjuster cover
« on: January 13, 2009, 01:01:39 PM »

Just took delivery of my new/used 2005 FLSTFSE and would like to replace the existing rear chrome axle covers with the chrome bullet style covers. I've tried to find them on the HD website as well as searching for them on Google with no luck.  Anybody have any suggestions?  I appreciate any help.

First, welcome aboard !! And welcome to a great site with even greater insight.

Second, We all do love the Candy Cobalt on one of the finest rides ever built by Harley Davidson. You won't get much argument that the 2005 FLSTFSE is one of CVO's flagship models and well deserved. My Humble Opinion, you've made a great purchase.

Last,  :worthless: . Now get busy, and send us some Pix of your new ride.

PS
I thought I had seen what you were looking for in the FatBook. or on the CD version. Softtail bullet covers...Now, I am not sure. sorry.

Jacques, Eric and Mike, thanks for the welcome! I'm going to post some pics in the next couple of weeks when I have completed some changes. The previous owner replaced the rear axle covers with
plain, round covers (not sure why) plus I'm changing out the exhaust to V&H 2 into 2 Big Radius and adding a power commander. Also thinking about changing out the stock air cleaner to the
screamin' eagle heavy breather? I like the looks of the heavy breather but am unclear if it enhances performance.

Your thoughts?

Bill,

I am hoping to add either the power commander or race tuner as my bike has vance and hines big shots on it.

I have been looking for direction on this decision....

any thoughts?

Eric:

The reason I'm going with the power commander is because my local dealer uses a dyno shop that prefers the PCIII over the SERT. I hear it's kind of a crap shoot if you go into this blind. I really
think you just need to ask around and see who has the best reputation in your area and if they prefer the PCIII or the SERT.

Ride safe.

Exactly. :2vrolijk_21: Why have them learn something they are not familiar with on your bike. :nervous: And charge you for it at the same time.

Hey Peddler...

Just got my 05 SEFB a few months ago. Was totally stock so I slammed on a set Rinehart staggereds and got a SERT. I prefer the SERT over the Power Commander.  I did my own map and love it. The ride on the FatBoy is just a dream.

Enjoy
