09 96" Dyno Test!
« on: January 17, 2009, 06:42:54 AM »

At 400 miles, break in is over and my new 09 96 incher is on the dyno getting the back tire worn out.
Heres a dyno chart showing the stock 09 96" before and after simple muffler and intake bolt ons.
The stock mufflers were recored with our 2.0 cores and the stock AC was replaced with a SE Heavy Breather.
The final numbers of 77 hp and 90tq gave a real seat of the pants improvement while rolling it on.   :orange:
TTS Mastertune was used to remap the AFR back to the original 13.0 at WOT as seen in the stock test.
Thats why the AFR lines lay on top of each other. Just a note; With out remapping the AFR wasn't really terrible,
but was leaving a little torque on the table.

Anybody want to drag race their stock 110 against my 96? I'm ready! Lol..

New headpipe will be on the dyno today. Production parts? 3-4 weeks. Lets not get too excited until we see actual dyno numbers. I'm not a chrome shop. If it doesn't make power I'll smash it and start over. Lol.......

So Steve how did today's dyno testing go? Are you smashing and starting over or do you have good news?

Made 63 dyno pulls on an 09 SE 110 today. Spent all day testing and remapping. Will post charts soon. Learned one thing. The cat is a HUGE restriction on the 110s. Until the cat is removed, all other performance efforts are useless. And once its removed, the AFR goes into la la land. The headpipe gets tested tomorrow.

When you say the CAT removed, you are talking about the entire CAT?  Don't suppose you tried at all with just the upper half of the CAT removed?

Steve,

The results from removing the cat are significantly different than what you expected. You had told me over the phone that the difference from removing the cat was insignificant. Glad that you did the dyno testing. I'm now curious about the performance differences between the different size cores on the 110". What did you discover there?
Thanks,
John

Steve, if this helps any, the testing we did 2 years ago showed the 110 NEEDS GOBS OF FLOW!!! So anything you can do to improve that helps wake these things up. Larger intakes, throttle bodies, and exhausts help these things tremendously, especially with better cams. Don't think much more testing's needed to keep proving that. Testing what flows the best and gets the best performance should be all you need to determine now. And I think you'll find, regarding intake and exhaust, that bigger's better on these things! ;) :2vrolijk_21:

Removing the cat on an 09 96" made zero difference. I'm very surprised to see an 8HP increase on the 110. Yesterday ended with 96hp and 110 tq. Only parts, 2.0 cores, no cat and a remap. Will be testing a few different cores sizes today and tomorrow.

The only 09 96" motors are the CA bikes, as far as we were all aware.  Was it a CA bike that you checked?
