Looks really good, I'm going to try and find the part number for the HD brake turn signal control so I can install this weekend. When the tour pack and spoiler and saddlebag lid spoilers come in I'll install those. Really lights up when you hit the brakes! I dont think I'll go for the LED turn signals, just because of $$$ right now, plus, I'm no good at electrical hookups, I dont want to get a bug in the system.

Great pictures, Thanks, Mike

CVOwner,

My set is the laydown smoke with the smoke bullet turn signals, front and rear.

http://www.kuryakyn.com/category.asp?bn=harley&cn=Lighting&sn=Panacea

To make all this work you unplug the wiring harness under the seat and reconnect with the Kuryakyn harness and add the equalizer. As a chef who has broken or stripped more bolts than I correctly seated, I found this to be easy. It will set you back about $275 unless you do the front as well, then add another 110 or so. If you do the front, you won't replace any more bulbs, but for 110, you shouldn't have to.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

'scuse me if I've missed it, but is there a supplier for Kuryakyn products that offers a discount?  I tried inputting the p/n (4974) in the Chicago H-D website part ordering page but get no response on that number.

By the way, this CVO site kicks butt.  I can't tell you how many times I've printed info to show my buds.  You all do a great job!!

HDJams,
That is correct the fronts are 1157 bulbs (dual filament, which burn all the time and when turn signals are applied) and the rear are 1156 bulbs (single filament), which only burn when turn signals are on.

If you are going for the full install you will need the large equalizer (separate purchase) and the small one that comes with the set. The large plugs straight into the harness and I zipped it to the bracket that holds my backrest in place, under the seat.

Want to get rid of the fast blink/security light problem? Biketronics BT-801 equalizer will solve both problems. Don't trust me, call, or email, Custom Dynamics. they sell more LED stuff than anyone. Even if you use the Kurakyn run/turn/brake unit, they still suggest the Biketronics eq be installed first, then the r/t/b unit. I have no trouble with this setup. Just plug and go. I have Radiantz LED turn signal inserts, a 6" LED (40 leds) stripe mounted on the orig reflector bracket and a 12" (100 LED's) unit on the tourpak. No problems what so ever.

Just to help anyone reading through this thread, I'm posting my instruction set. Yes I keep everything. On the topic of which light set is best, I believe John Lennon said it best with, "Whatever gets you through the night..." DW6019, thanks for the heads up, I'll keep that part in mind for when I need to redo the system.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
For any naysayers, again I point out that I am not a wrencher and on these instructions it says "Average Time: 20 Minutes." It took me that long to find a phillips head screw driver, so we all have our limitations.   [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

I need to let everyone know my comments regarding the Biketronics BT-801 do not apply to the Panacea Taillamp Asm. Only to HD Taillamp with either a OE bulb or a Radiantz LED insert. The Panacea animal is a total unit and should be used as it is supplied. But if you have LED turn signals, or any other add on LED's the BT-801 is the ticket to take care of your alarm light/fast blink problem.
I do find... My Radiantz combo is so much brighter than the Kurakyn Panacea Unit that if you park my bike beside my buddies with a Panacea mine will blot his out when brakes are applied (in the dark) and during daylight it is amazing the difference. Radiantz is  available with turn signal arrows or just a stop/run integrated into the OE taillamp Housing similar to the Kurakyn unit. They also offer a Strobe unit that will amaze you with the intensity of flashes and is adjustable to number of flashes when brakes are applied. I don't have it, but saw it at Vegas Bikefest and will have it soon.
