The reason I pose this question – I ordered the titanium lowers for my 2009 SERG and they arrived all most to the day the SERG arrived. I went to the dealer to see the SERG and had the parts guy bring the lowers in the room my bike was in. Immediately, I mentioned the lowers looked “light” in color, compared to the titanium section of the bike. It was dark and very lousy outside; in addition the bike was not fully uncrated. The lighting in the motorcycle holding room was not adequate to determine for sure so I left and asked the dealer to make sure they matched before putting them on. A week later, I had the bike delivered (because of Boston bad weather, salt, and snow) and placed it in the garage. Most of you will be surprised but it took me a week to get out to the garage and take a good look (a lot of personal things converging at the moment) but when I pulled the bike out in the sun, I could easily see at least a 1 – 1 ½ shade difference from the titanium on the lowers vs. the titanium on the motorcycle – you will never see the difference in a picture, in case I get a “THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS”, similar to how we say “On-line PICS don’t do the paint schemes justice”. Called dealer, they called Harley and to make a long story short, dealer picked up the bike yesterday and plan to have a tribunal with at least 3 people in order to justify ordering a new set of lowers – sales guy said three people in their dealership have to agree they don’t match. Haven’t heard the outcome from the tribunal. The lowers on the O/B SERG should be fine – Vivid Black but has anyone with a Silver or Yellow SERG received lowers that didn’t match 100% and if so, what did you do.
Thanks
