Yesterday it was finally dry, sunny and above 32! Got a short putt in before the games. I didn't realize how much I was jonesing for a little saddle time!
Come on, let's ride!
I know what you mean. Went on a ride Saturday, the H.O.G. chapter's Polar Bear Run. Surprisingly, we had about 30 bikes out for the ride.
Aptly named this year, it was around 30 degrees when we started out.
We were supposed to ride for about an hour before stopping for a chapter picture. Well, the Road Captain and another of the long-term chapter members who were riding up front got cold and cut it short at 30 minutes. I was toasty at that point and wished we'd ridden longer.
The picture taking almost did me in, though. We were on the front porch of a historic home and the wind was ice cold. Funny, but I was warmer when we were ridin'!!! When I left to head home -- about a 15 minute ride -- I had to stop halfway at the dealership and warm up for about an hour. I was chilled to the bone.
Nonetheless, riding did wonders for my sense of well-being. The wife and the girl hate being around me when I haven't had enough saddle time. I get cranky, even b!+@#-y. They'll shove me out the door to go for a ride at that point. It's happened more than once this winter with all the goofy weather we've had.
Got in another short ride yesterday to a new dealership and back. It was much warmer (40-45) and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Now, just gotta hold out until Feb when my SERG gets here. Come On, February!
