Hate to diss a new member (especially since it's against the rules) but I just checked this members only posts to date on-line and he's posed the question on three threads. Based on what I read, I think he's talking an 08 SEUC Duracell, so going with that and what sounds like at least $5k in damage and also given the current state of the market and other factors, I wouldn't pay more than $15k for this bike. Think I'm crazy ? Fine, explain why.

Most if not all parts are easily replaceable, all it takes is lots and lots of money!  Status of title is paramount.  If it's a salvage title - not good, and you'd probably never come close to recouping your money.  Why is the owner selling it?  Does the owner have a estimate of repair.  At the very least I would take it a Harley dealer shop for a once over before I gave a money for it.  Chances are there is other damage you're not seeing.  Be very careful.  There are many Ultras or Screamin Eagle Ultras out there for sale at a good price with no damage.  Good luck!

I've talked to Mtn Boy in chat the other night. I think your assessment is right on B B. I think he can get it for less. My only concern was if the frame was bent and told him to have the local dealer check it out first. A new twist is that the insurance company has not yet decided to salvage the bike. If this is the case, I'd work out some deal with the Ins. co. and the owner before that label was placed on the title.

PARTS FROM LOCAL DEALER EQUAL 2452.00

You need to get a flat rate quote to swap out those parts from a dealer
You need to find out if there is any frame damage. This can be as minor as a bent front engine guard tab (which always happens when you bend the guard)
You need to find out he status of the title ( A salvage titled bike has no real value and in many states is hard to register)

And lastly, since you posted this question on this forum, I've got a question for you- - - - - - - WHY do you want this motorcycle ?

Ok, let me get this straight....
A 2008 coppertop orig cost 35K
2020 miles
$2500 in parts
for less than 12K
I am not sure there needs to have any discussion on  this
Buy It and work out a deal with Ins Co. to avoid Salvage title

Done deal!

Am I missing something?

He told some of us that the price was in that range. Even if it's $14k, it's still a good deal with a clear title.

vin verifies cvo bike. has front fender damage ,fairing has serious scratches no chunks or dents. i am sure it is very re-paintable. lower upper faring is damaged needs new. engine guard has some rash. i can find no other damage, it has 2020 miles. is this bike a consideration for 11750.00. what are the costs to repair and what options are there. looking for ideas. the bike does run and drives perfect.

Don't paint any of the parts.  Order new.  You can get 20% from a couple dealers mentioned in this forum.  Most parts are easy to replace yourself.  I know the outer fairing on mine (07 SEUC) is $730 new at list price.  It would cost more to paint a primed one and it would never match.  CVOs are the only bikes not painted by Harley and the paint codes are protected like nuclear launch codes.  It sounds like a good deal to me as long as it's not a salvage title.

Are you seeing a pattern here? ???

Get the bike to the dealer, check the frame, buy the bike.
