Mike, like you said it all depends on the carrier. We can want all day long but if it's not available there's no getting one. Mom wants an Iphone but there is NO service here in FL. She has to settle for Verizon or Tmobile. She really wants the Storm as well. I've told her to get it and try it for 30 days and see how she likes it. I did that with the Google G1 and was glad my father lost it over in England last week. ;D The G1 was not designed for a business user in mind. From what you have described above, the Storm fits you bill. The only other option maybe the Bold which has most of the kinks already worked out.

I made a mention of the fact that I have the Bold at the beginning of this thread. i have to say that it has performed faultlessly since I have had it and that it does everything I want it to do. Well worth having a look at if you are wavering between phones.

P.S. A national alert has now been announced regarding the loss of a suspect Google G1 on our hallowed shores !!

Got an iPhone through my company, and I can't see using anything else.  Perfect match for my MacBook Pro.

Nige, you'd better alert Scottland Yard and let them know about the phone  ;D.

Sporty, The G1 did pair with the H-D Bluetooth just fine. All on my contacts were on screen. An added bonus was the there was actually more info. A contact that had multiple phone number would list all numbers, not just the first one in the list. So I would see a mobile number a home #, work #, etc.

Priority my a$$, It is a MUST. If a phone will not pair at all, there is no point in buying it for me. Now as we have discussed, my Treo pairs but I don't get the full phonebook. I can live with that but it must have some functionality with the HD Bluetooth module.

I use mine with the HD bluetooth just fine.

FWIW, I have had Palm, Blackberries, and other phones. Nothing comes even close to the iphone. I was wary about switching to AT&T, but the coverage and service have been good.

AT&T is a deal-breaker for me with the I-Phone also.  Ended up going with a Blackberry Curve thru US Cellular and have been very happy.  Only $25 a mo. for the internet svc. and it has most of what was listed that the I-Phone has except the touch screen, which I've never used so don't have any comparison.  I like the fact that I didn't have to sign a new obligation also.  :2vrolijk_21: spyder

I have lucky enough to try both the Bold and the Storm. I went with the Bold. I did not like the touch screen when typing emails on the storm. My .02 cents.

One of the advantages of the Storm over the Bold is it being a world phone.

I tried bot h a iPhone and Storm for a month each. In our area the Storm seemed a little faster with web stuff, but the iPhone was a bit more with the extras. The google earth worked really well.
