There are a huge variety of antelope species in Africa.  Maybe someday I will get the chance to see them in their native environment.

Me too Roger. We are kind of kicking around the idea of doing a tour in South Africa to take in the "Big Six" ! which is basically the big 5 plus Harley Davidson.

Some stunning animals there thats for sure.

The other one I would love to see is a Bull Eland - these guys more than give an Elk a run for its money in terms of size.

The common eland, Taurotragus oryx, of S and E Africa, stands almost 6 ft (1.8 m) high at the shoulder and may weight up to 2,000 lb (910 kg). Its oxlike body is light brown, with a few narrow white stripes running across the back and down the sides. It has a hump between the shoulders, a short, erect, black mane, and a long tail with a short, black tuft. Both sexes have spiral horns about 2 ft (60 cm) long, stretching straight back from the head.

I have never spoken to anyone that has been to Africa that has regretted their trip.

There is a lot more to hunting than a kill, in fact if you read back a few posts none of my personal posts regarding a visit to Africa indaicate anything about a "hunting" safari.

Without the control of the animal population which can't be done by nature any longer in the USA as most predator species are too low, deer and other species would run rampant as they did in New Zealand until the government fenced in vast areas and controlled the deer and other populations with government hunters to remove vast numbers of animals.

Anyway, it's easy enough to avoid threads here you don't agree with, hunters certainly respect your right to your opinion, all we ask is the same in return.

And they taste good...for the most part...especially the baby ones....
Now if I don't eat anymore wild boar, I won't miss it, I like the domestic...
The ferral hogs I kill to keep my wildflowers from being devastated...
There are way too many here in Florida and they are a road hazard as are the deer but the deer are tasty.

:2vrolijk_21:  Well said Roger.  I'm not a hunter.  I'd rather buy it and grill it.  I completely support my friends that do and am thankful for the sharing of the bounty.
