I got the Drag Trim rings in today, Finish is great on them. I tried them on 6 different E-glides and Harley consistancy is showing its ugly head once again. On some they were a perfect fit and on others there was a small (about 1/16 - 1/8) gap. Variances were even present between the left and right on the same bike. A pair will be going on my own bike (even thought it was one of the looser fits).

So what's the deal?  Are the speaker holes different sizes in the fairings on some of them or what?  That sounds pretty discouraging.

That's really strange.  Wonder why the HD ones fit so good then?  Or is it because the HD ones have the cross bar we just stick them on what looks like center of the speaker.  :nixweiss: .   Jim, I may be procuring a set of those DS rings from you to put on my Street Glide, that would go with the minimalistic look I'm going for on it.

That's it.  Have noticed an OD gap variation with the HD pieces before too.  Since they're centered up visually with the cross bar we just don't notice it as much.  Eye-ball installation that draws the eye to the center.

I found some other rather unique speaker grilles on this site.  Something else to check out would be the switch accents...that's something I haven't seen before.   http://cal-custom-cruisercom.wearewebs.com/shoppingcart/index.php?cPath=66_114&osCsid=8ndsvr80lv0opprr7bfs29q8p5

Too busy for my taste. But they look well done. The switch thing is probably also something for a true dresser up-dresser ;-). With the nice silver fairing, I won't be adding too much anyhow.

Not my taste at all in the speaker covers, but I did like the switch accent to an extent.  I think it would look better on the regular Ultra with the black inner fairing to dress it up a little.  I don't know if you enlarged the pics of the speaker grilles, but there was one in particular that caught my attention and I don't think I could actually ride around with them on there.  If you looked at them closely, you'll know which one I'm talking about.

I just found a typo in my earlier reply. I wanted to say "too busty for my taste".

Sorry about that.

I don't know about the rest of you ... but that stuff looks very cheap and tacky to me...and way over-priced.  :o
