09 CVO SEUC Delivery
« on: January 25, 2009, 06:58:02 PM »

I placed a deposit for a 09 Ruby Red (i was told the RED were the fastest) SEUC the third week in July 08 and was told that delivery would be mid to late December.  Now the dealer said that it would be the first week in April 09. I was wondering if other people are seeing longer wait times also. Have bikes been delayed from there original delivery date due to cut backs at HDMC.

I am taking a hunch you are from Wyoming.    :)   While searching dealer inventory in Ohio, several dealers have Ruby's in stock while southern dealers are moving theirs.  It would be hard for me to wait almost a year for a bike.  Have you tried other dealers in your area?

I saw a bunch of them, in all colors, available on CycleTrader.com.  My friend just bought an 08, as the dealer he was ordering his 09 through told him they were not going to be getting any more 09's in.  I was told the same at the dealer where I got mine.  I don't know if there is any basis or whether they are just hoping that these same people will just give up and buy a different bike from their inventory.  Is so, it worked on my friend and they got him to buy the used 08 SEUC.  The fact is, they are out there and available at various dealers around the country and I'm sure there will be more coming.  If not, those of us that already have one really have a limited edition model.

I was told by the GM at our local dealership that the cutbacks in production are not on CVO's or touring models as theses models are moving well (at least in our area). Dyna's, Softails, and Sporters are being cut back.

yep, I have been having the same problem! :(

My latest attempt at an order resulted in a flat out DENIAL from the MOCO toward the dealer, due to "recconfiguration" of the delivery schedule by the moco! :(     And this was after a deposit was placed based on an allotment sheet the sales manager had, that apparently was worthless!
I find it very puzzling that the moco did absolutely nothing to assist the dealer in covering his orders! Given the slow sales of product, wouldnt you think they would match buyer with product, if there is so many of these so called "available" product out there?
Seems like there are missed opportunities out there for potential sales, and the moco is shooting themselves in the......"foot".....OUCH...did that come out of MY mouth?  :)

The dealer I purchased my FLTRSE3 has a RUBY RED setting on the floor. They are a no delivery or prep charge dealer. Great family owned dealer.

Brad

Thanks for the info on the SEUC. I did that drive for a Shelby GT 500 last year not sure I want to do it in the winter. My dealers sales manager and two other dealers sales manager said that if there was a deposit on a CVO they will build it.

Well, I need a good test ride... and the ride from PA to VA is do-able, and I have covered storage, so all you have to do is cut the check, and I could hold your merchandise until it is warm enough for you to come and git 'er.   :pumpkin:

I ordered my RUBY in mid October - it was delivered the day before Christmas.

Now if the snow would melt and warm up, I could ride - I did put 1 mile on the bike before putting the cover on it.  SAD, to say the least!

I feel your pain, it's been chit in Chicagoland as well, the only enjoyment I can partake in is adding more stuff to the bike, and this site helps out with that :2vrolijk_21:

Paramount Harley Davidson in Framingham MA has a Ruby sitting on the floor - been there at least 3 months. They sell over MSRP but they may change their story now that the bike has sat there for so long.

Nice Dealership other than they try to sell their CVO's over MSRP.

I'm from Salt Lake City and my son's dealer is in Minnesota. They had a CVO Ruby Red being delivered and unspoken for at Christmas time. I drove my covered trailer to visit my son and bought the Ruby Red bike that had just been delivered and was still in the crate. They gave me a nice deal too. I've since put on 500 miles and love the bike. I'd go nuts waiting 'til April if I ordered it last year. I'd never buy a Harley or anything else from a dealer that sells bikes over MSRP even if they are high demand models.

It has been a long wait. My dealer sold me this bike below MSRP and as treated me good on the other two bikes I bought from them last year and would like to keep up the relationship with them.
