Latetest e-mail J&M says they are allmost done. Final solution will most likely involve a new design cable more shielding etc. To me the wait will be worth it.

Anyone with an ohm meter care to measure from the TAB position in the mic jack connector to the chrome console? I am measuring 24 ohms from the TAB to the chrome console. I measured an 04 and the reading was about 1 Ohm . Sure would aprreciate another one or two readings from people with 06's Thanks.

I will ohm it also if you tell which pin out. I guess you want the input impedence
of the mike on the Harmon Kardon...correct?

I installed and tested the J&M fix. Better still not right. Having e-mail conversation with their president. Will update when things change.

They have EXCELLENT customer service.  Mine has been terriffic since April and 12,000 miles.  Fantastic mic.  DREBBIN

If you look at your mike cord you will see the pins arranged in an allmost full circle. If you notice the metal wall that goes around the connector . It will have a place that is indented . That place lines up with a metal contact on the mic jack which is on the console.
You don't power anything up . One probe goes to the metal tab on the mic console jack and one probe just goes to the console. Thanks!

Thanks for the confirm on where to check, walked out to the garage to check it and realized the bike is at the dealership being looked at.  [smiley=oops.gif] I'll certainly look when I get it back though.

I have the Harley headset  on the 06...same bike as you. Did you just need someone with the J&M headset?

I'm showing 1.4ohms from the tab to the console, calibrated GreenLee Digital Meter.

Thanks! Where mine is 24 ohms I suspect a bad ground some place. Your measurement makes much more sense.

Think that could be the problem you were having with the cord??

Tried ordering 2 helmets and cords today, they wouldn't let me, said they don't expect the cord for the '06 to be out until sometime in December.

Well that makes sense as they told me the cords needed more shielding. They make a good product all molded ends weather proof etc. Most likely waiting on their vendor. The Harley headset seems "dull" compared to J&M's . I hope the new cords work. Thanks for the update! [smiley=laugh.gif]
