While talking with the warranty guy, we looked at three SEUGs on the property for either used sales or service (model years 06' - '08). I was quite surprised to see that all three had gaps on about 388 inch or so - similar or worse than what I've seen on this sforum for 09 SERGs. We also noticed smaller gaps on two out of four 08-09 (non-cvo) Road Glides. For whatever reason I have not read or heard about this issue before, but it seems to have been around for a while.

I don't mean to get off topic, but what's this about the jiffy stand?

I've got both, the seat gap and the leaning bike syndrone. I called the dealer, mentioned the two problems as warranty issues; they crawfished around, sounded really confused and finally said "we haven't received a notice from MOCO on those issues". They will check into it and get back with me. :D

Yeah, RIGHT.....

See if by any chance your dealer has a new one in stock or coming in.  I had talked to my dealer and they we're looking into it also.  But yeasterday, a new SERG one came in with the new seat and "Jackpot".  They can see how bad the gap is. They said, we'll get a new seat one way or another.  Let's Roll

HELP!

My dealer service rep. (who is a good guy) says HD denies problem.  I know from experience that when there is a warranty issue, HD assignes a number to the problem with each customer.  Anyone have this number or willing to call service at the dealer to get it.  That would help alot!!  Thanks.

ok, too easy...there is no number assigned to this issue, I just got off the phone w/Cus.Ser.(# provided earlier) and spoke with Ola, she is one of about 10 operators there and that "they all know about it"...she said if the guy from California would call us, then they would contact the dealer...as I said - too easy...now I have a question, is your dealer 'good' guy actually calling while you're there?...or just telling you he is...good luck...you know, maybe its a California thing... "Save the Buffalo!!" :P

Carlos,

Thanks!  It's not the issue that gets a number but each customer inquiry.  Your service rep would have it. That's how HD keeps track on the computer.  They even have caller ID know it's me when I call from my office.   I have spoken with HD cust service and they want pictures.  So, I'll get them and see what happens next.  Thanks again!

Mentioned the seat to my service manager on Mon. and he said he'd check it out. Just now called to ask if the gap was over an inch. Affirm. No problem he said, new seat's on the way. Going to handle the jiffy stand bracket too. All's looking good. Thanks all for the heads up.

Had to talk with HD and send pictures...  Received a call from the Dealer Service Manager today... new seat on the way.   :huepfenjump3:   :bananarock:  Manager related that HD admits some were too short.  (See pics).
