Trip to California-------Need some info
« on: January 28, 2009, 05:48:44 PM »

At the Easyriders show this weekend we had a great time.

We also always try to support the MDA and they had a booth at the show where they were raffling tickets for a bike to be given away in Februrary.

Part of the enticement to buy a raffle ticket for the bike was an all expense paid trip to Landmark Vineyards in California.

http://www.landmarkwine.com/home.html

My phone rang a while ago.

Amy Bunting with the MDA said, "Hi Chip, you and Nancy won the all expense paid trip to Napa Valley"

WhoooooHoooooo

So I have a bunch of questions,

Where is Kenwood California?

Is Landmark a good vineyard?

What airport will we fly into?

What site members are close to there?

We can schedule it for anytime, so when is best?

Is there a CVO GTG that we can't miss?

Where is the best place to rent a bike?

How far is the "Metal Dragon"?

How far away will JC, Marty, Ernie, Vanamal, Jim be from us?

WhooooHooooo, left coast here we come!

JC, you wanted to know when we were coming, we have the ways and means now, just tell us when!

So I have a bunch of questions,
Where is Kenwood California?  See map above.
Is Landmark a good vineyard?  Yes!
What airport will we fly into?    S.F. or Sac. but S.F north to Kenwood is a beautiful drive.
What site members are close to there?  See member map (newbie)!
We can schedule it for anytime, so when is best?   Are you kidding?  This is California!
Is there a CVO GTG that we can't miss?  Central Coast GTG May 1!
Where is the best place to rent a bike?  HD fly and ride?
How far is the "Metal Dragon"?  See above.
How far away will JC, Marty, Ernie, Vanamal, Jim be from us?  They are probably running now!

 :2vrolijk_21:

Chip!  Congratulations.  CA will never be the same.  The Bodega Bay area to the west is fabulous riding country.  But you can't beat Pacific Coast Highway south of S.F.  Would love to see you make the Central Coast GTG....

Congratulations   :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: This is at my back door.. The best time of the year is April May, maybe early June. Anything thereafter can be HOT... April and May, all the flowers are in bloom, everything is green and you cant ask for better California riding weather. Try to plan some time in along the coast if you have the time...

Make sure you go to the Pink Quarter in San Fran, it's nothing like the French Quarter in New Orleans. Make sure you don't have any trousers with a zipper in the back when ya go.

If you go in June (12, 13, 14) you can hit the Redwood Run, its only about 150 miles north and some great riding up and then down the coast. George Thorogood & the Destroyers is playing this year. Check it out.
